Andhra Pradesh NEET UG: Entrance exams for MBBS, BDS & AYUSH course.

Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Exam

The NEET UG 2026 Exam for medical aspirants from Andhra Pradesh is expected to be held on May 3, 2026, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. The exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the official notification is expected by the end of this year. As per current estimates, over 1.2 lakh students from Andhra Pradesh are likely to participate in NEET UG 2026. The application form is expected to be released around the first week of February 2026, and the test will be available in 13 languages, including Telugu. Students from Andhra Pradesh applying for NEET 2026 can explore details on exam dates, eligibility conditions, registration, and preparation strategies to secure admission in medical and dental colleges across the state.

To appear for NEET UG 2026, candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2026. Candidates from Andhra Pradesh should also note that state quota admission (85%) requires AP local status/domicile, while the remaining seats are filled under the All-India Quota (AIQ). The official notification, along with details on the application form, syllabi, and exam pattern, will be released on the NTA website — www.neet.nta.nic.in. Securing a higher NEET score is crucial, as it determines admission to government and private MBBS/BDS seats under the Andhra Pradesh State Counselling.

As per recent updates, Andhra Pradesh has revised its medical admission policy, limiting non-local admission opportunities and prioritizing seats for AP residents under the state quota. Counselling will be conducted by the state authority (NTRUHS), and students must register online after the NEET result. Cut-offs for government MBBS seats in AP have been rising every year, with competitive scores expected for 2026 admissions. Meanwhile, reports also suggest that optional changes may be explored in future admission rounds based on national guidelines and reservation updates.

What is Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026

The Andhra Pradesh NEET Exam refers to the state-level admission process through which students from Andhra Pradesh secure seats in undergraduate medical and dental courses such as MBBS and BDS, along with AYUSH and certain paramedical programs offered by government and private colleges in the state. Admission is not based on a separate exam; instead, it is determined only through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted at the national level.

AP NEET-UG Exam Pattern

The NEET-UG exam pattern followed in Andhra Pradesh remains the same as the national format prescribed by NTA. The exam will continue to be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode with a total duration of 3 hours.
Andhra Pradesh students appearing for NEET must answer 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions, distributed across three subjects: 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions in Biology (Botany + Zoology).

Candidates have to shade their responses on the OMR sheet using a blue or black ballpoint pen issued at the examination centre in Andhra Pradesh.

Below is the question and marks distribution followed for NEET-UG in Andhra Pradesh:

Subject Number of Questions Total Marks

Physics

45

180

Chemistry

45

180

Botany

45

180

Zoology

45

180

Total

180

720

The NTA has also confirmed that optional questions have been removed, and all questions are mandatory for NEET-UG, including those applicable to Andhra Pradesh admissions for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and Veterinary seats.

Impact of These Changes

  • Higher certainty / uniformity:  Since every question is compulsory, Andhra Pradesh students cannot rely on leaving difficult options unused — preparation must be complete across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Increased time pressure: With all questions mandatory within the same duration, students must practice strict time management to complete the paper efficiently.
  • Reduced confusion in choice:  The removal of optional questions makes the paper more straightforward, reducing stress about which questions to attempt or skip.
  • Better flexibility in exam centre selection: Providing multiple city preferences allows candidates from smaller districts and rural areas in Andhra Pradesh to get exam centres closer to home, reducing travel issues.

AP NEET-UG 2025 Counselling

The NEET-UG 2025 counselling process for Andhra Pradesh, conducted by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS), began on July 23, 2025, and is expected to continue till November 2025. However, the final schedule may extend further as the online registration and document verification deadlines have been extended for late applicants, which could delay the release of the final round seat allotment results.

The university has not yet issued the revised counselling timeline. Initially, the process was expected to conclude by mid-November 2025.

Students who have qualified NEET-UG 2025 by securing the cutoff marks are eligible to participate in the counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other medical/dental undergraduate courses under the state quota, management quota, and NRI quota in government and private medical colleges of Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh NEET-UG counselling is conducted under two major seat categories:

  •  85% State Quota (SQ) – Counselling conducted by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) for seats in Government, Private, Management, and NRI Quotas within Andhra Pradesh.
  •  15% All India Quota (AIQ) – Counselling organized by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for seats available across India, including AIQ seats in Andhra Pradesh government medical colleges

Steps Involved in Andhra Pradesh NEET-UG Counselling Process:

  •  Online Registration – Candidates must register on the official AP counselling portal conducted by Dr. YSRUHS (apmedadm.ap.nic.in / apuhs.gov.in) and upload the required documents.
  •  Choice Filling & Locking – After the merit list is released, candidates can fill and lock their preferred medical and dental colleges/courses under State, Management, or NRI quota.
  •  Seat Allotment Result – Seats are allotted based on NEET rank, category, local/non-local status, reservation rules, and seat availability in Andhra Pradesh medical and dental colleges.
  •  Reporting to the Allotted Institute – Selected candidates must report to the allotted college with original certificates, pay the admission fee, and confirm their seat within the given time frame.

  • Increase in the number of medical seats within Andhra Pradesh
  • Rising demand for MBBS, BDS, and Nursing programmes under NEET

AP NEET-UG 2026 Exam Date

The NEET-UG 2026 exam is expected to be conducted in May 2026, most likely in the first week of May, as per the usual schedule followed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The examination will be held offline (pen-and-paper mode) from 2 PM to 5 PM across designated centres in India and select international locations.

For candidates from Andhra Pradesh, the NEET-UG exam will be organized in multiple test centres across major AP cities, ensuring smooth logistics and accessibility.

AP NEET-UG Books

Selecting the right books is crucial for scoring well in NEET-UG. For students in Andhra Pradesh, using a balanced mix of NCERT textbooks and reliable reference books helps in building strong concepts, practicing extensively, and staying aligned with the NEET exam pattern. A focused set of books ensures clarity, accuracy, and efficient problem-solving for top performance in the exam.

AP NEET-UG 2026 Preparation & Recommended Books

To score well in NEET-UG 2026 and secure admission in Andhra Pradesh medical colleges, students must prepare with a clear strategy and the right study resources. Follow these essential guidelines during preparation:

  • Understand the NEET-UG 2026 syllabus and exam pattern thoroughly before beginning your preparation, as the exam is fully based on the NMC-prescribed syllabus.
  • Choose textbooks and reference books that align with the updated NEET syllabus, especially NCERT books, as they form the core of NEET questions.
  • Make a structured timetable and follow it consistently, ensuring equal time for revision, practice, and mock tests.
  • Solve NEET Previous Year Questions (PYQs) chapter-wise and subject-wise to identify common question patterns and frequently asked concepts.
  • Take full-length mock tests regularly to improve accuracy, increase question-solving speed, and identify weaker areas that require focused revision.

AP NEET-UG Results 2026

The NEET-UG 2026 results will be released online by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on its official portal. Once declared, the results will be provided in two formats, both of which will be used for the counselling process in Andhra Pradesh:

  • Individual Scorecard
  • All-India Merit List & State-wise Merit List

After the national results are declared, Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) will prepare a separate AP State Merit List, which will be used for admissions into Government, Private, Management, and NRI quota seats across Andhra Pradesh.

1. AP NEET-UG Result Format

Merit List:

The Andhra Pradesh NEET-UG State Merit List is released separately by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) after NTA announces the national NEET results. This list includes the state ranking of candidates based on their NEET scores, local/non-local status, and reservation category. It is published on the official AP counselling portal and is publicly accessible for reference.

Scorecard:

The NEET-UG scorecard must be downloaded by candidates directly from the NTA NEET website, as AP does not issue a separate scorecard. It contains marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, along with total score, percentile, All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and serves as the official document required during AP counselling, certificate verification, and college admission.

2. How to Check AP NEET-UG Result / Scorecard

  • Visit the official NEET website: www.neet.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the “NEET UG 2026 Result” link.

3. Understanding the AP NEET-UG Scorecard

The NEET-UG scorecard issued by NTA is the primary document required for admissions inAndhra Pradesh. It contains the following details, all of which are used during AP State Merit List preparation and counselling by YSRUHS:

  • Candidate’s Name, Roll Number & Application Number
  • Marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (separately and combined)
  • Total Marks out of 720
  • Percentile Score based on NTA’s ranking formula
  • All India Rank (AIR) used for national counselling and AP merit ranking
  • Category-wise Rank (if applicable) used for AP reservation quota seats
  • Cut-off eligibility status indicating whether the candidate has qualified for admission to MBBS/BDS and allied courses

4. How to Calculate NEET Percentile (For Andhra Pradesh Candidates)

The NEET percentile reflects a candidate’s performance compared to all other test-takers in India, including those from Andhra Pradesh. It is not based on marks, but on how many candidates scored less than you.

The formula is:

What is the Correction Window

After submission of the online application for Andhra Pradesh NEET UG counselling, candidates are generally provided with a short duration to correct mistakes or upload missing documents. This facility is given by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) before the preparation of the state merit list.

According to previous AP MBBS/BDS counselling procedures:

  • “If any mistake is found in the submitted AP NEET UG application form, candidates are usually allowed to correct it during the official correction window announced by YSRUHS.”
  • The AP counselling portal provides a “window to edit details & re-upload required certificates/documents” as part of the verification process before merit list publication.

Purpose of the Correction Window

  • Allows candidates to fix errors in entered details (personal, academic, category, local status).
  • Helps in re-uploading incorrectly scanned documents or missing certificates.

Typical Corrections Allowed

    • Study/Residence certificate (local status)

    • EWS/PwD/NCC/Sports/CAP certificates (if applicable)

  • Only specific fields may be editable; identity details like Aadhaar may not always be changeable.
  • Corrections are allowed only once, and changes after the deadline are not accepted.
  • The correction window appears before document verification results and merit list announcement.
  • If mistakes are not corrected within the window, the application may be rejected or marked incomplete, affecting the candidate’s eligibility for seat allotment.

Common Mistakes to Avoid – Andhra Pradesh NEET UG Application Form

  1. Entering Wrong Personal Details
Spelling mistakes in name, date of birth, Aadhaar details, or parent information can cause issues during document verification at the allotted college.
  2. Incorrect Community/Reservation Selection
Choosing the wrong category (BC-A/B/C/D/E, SC, ST, EWS, PH, NCC, CAP, Sports) or failure to upload valid certificates may affect your reservation benefits or lead to loss of quota eligibility.
  3. Not Uploading Study Certificate (Class 4–12)
For AP local status, the study certificate from Class 4 to 12 is mandatory. Many students forget to upload it, resulting in rejection or being marked as “Non-Local.”
  4. Uploading Blurred or Invalid Documents
Unclear photographs, signatures, or poorly scanned documents may fail verification and delay or cancel the application.
  5. Mismatch in NEET Scorecard Details
Incorrect NEET roll number, rank, percentile, score, or spelling mismatch with the application may lead to disqualification during merit list preparation.
  6. Incorrect or Missing EWS/Income Certificates
Uploading expired, handwritten, or invalid EWS/income certificates can remove your eligibility for EWS or fee concessions.
  7. Skipping Required Special Certificates
Candidates applying under CAP, Sports, NCC, PwD (PH) and other quotas often forget to upload valid certificates, resulting in automatic rejection from those categories.
  8. Not Reviewing the Application Before Submission
Many errors go unnoticed because candidates fail to check the entered details and uploaded documents before clicking “Submit.”
  9. Missing Important Deadlines
AP counselling has strict deadlines for registration, fee payment, and document upload. Delays can cause complete loss of the counselling chance for the year.
  10. Creating Multiple Accounts
Using multiple logins with different phone numbers or emails can lead to confusion in verification and may result in rejection of all applications.

Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Application Form – Important Tips

  • Verify NEET details carefully (roll number, score, rank, and percentile) before submitting to avoid merit list rejection.
  • Upload study certificates (Class 4–12) clearly, as they are compulsory for AP local status — blurred or missing copies may result in non-local classification.
  • Ensure your caste, EWS, PH, NCC, Sports or CAP certificates are valid and updated before uploading, especially for reservation benefits.
  • Use an active mobile number and email ID because all OTP verifications, notifications, and seat-allotment messages will be sent to these contacts.
  • Apply early and complete uploads before the deadline to avoid server issues, late fee payments, or disqualification due to incomplete documents.

Instead, eligible candidates will receive a seat allotment order during each round of counselling conducted by YSRUHS.

The AP NEET UG 2026 allotment letter will contain important details such as the candidate’s name, NEET roll number, allotted medical or dental college, course (MBBS/BDS/AYUSH), category, seat type (State/Management/NRI), and reporting instructions. This allotment order is a mandatory document that must be produced at the allotted institute for document verification, fee payment, and completion of admission formalities. Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Answer Key / Merit List Dates

The Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 merit list will be published online by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS), Vijayawada, through its official counselling portal. Andhra Pradesh does not release a separate state-level answer key, as admissions are conducted strictly based on the NEET UG 2026 result and national answer key issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The counselling process in the state begins only after NTA declares the NEET 2026 results and final answer key. As per expected timelines, the provisional Andhra Pradesh state merit list is likely to be released in the 1st week of July 2026, followed by the final AP merit list within the same week after completion of document verification and scrutiny. Admit Card – Andhra Pradesh NEET UG

The NEET UG 2026 admit card for candidates from Andhra Pradesh will be released online by the National Testing Agency (NTA) a few days before the national-level examination. Since NEET is a central exam, the admit card is the same for all states, including Andhra Pradesh. Only students who have successfully completed the NEET UG 2026 application process will be able to download the hall ticket using their application number and password/date of birth. NEET UG 2026 is expected to be held in May 2026, and the admit card is a mandatory document that every student must carry to their allotted exam centre. Without the admit card, no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall or appear for the test. Before issuing the admit card, NTA will first release the NEET UG 2026 Exam City Intimation Slip, which only informs the candidate about the city of their exam centre. This document is not the admit card, but is released early so students can make advance travel plans if required. Once the official admit card is released, candidates from Andhra Pradesh can download it from the NTA NEET portal using their login credentials. The admit card will contain important information like the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam date and time, exam centre address, and exam instructions. In case of mistakes in personal details or exam centre information, candidates must report to NTA immediately for correction. Students are advised to keep the admit card safely even after completing the exam, as it is also required during counselling, document verification, and admission stages under Andhra Pradesh state quota.

Preparation

Andhra Pradesh NEET UG: Entrance exams for MBBS, BDS & AYUSH course.

Andhra Pradesh NEET Preparation 2026

Preparing for the Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 exam requires a strategic, disciplined, and NCERT-focused study plan, as admissions to all MBBS and BDS colleges in the state are based entirely on NEET UG scores. With increasing competition for limited government medical seats, AP aspirants must build strong fundamentals, consistent practice, and long-term preparation across Class 11 and Class 12 topics.

To succeed in NEET 2026, Andhra Pradesh students must strictly follow the NMC/NTA-prescribed syllabus based on NCERT, as questions directly reflect NCERT definitions, diagrams, reactions, formulas, and examples. Since Biology carries maximum weightage (90 questions), mastering NCERT Biology while strengthening conceptual clarity in Physics and Chemistry is crucial for achieving a high state rank and local quota seat. Solving mock tests, previous year question papers, and full-length practice tests helps improve time management, question selection skills, and accuracy—key factors in scoring 600+.

Understanding Andhra Pradesh’s counselling, cutoffs, local quota rules (AU/SVU regions), and seat trends can help aspirants set realistic target scores and choose colleges smartly. Maintaining a balanced revision cycle, keeping track of YSRUHS (Dr. YSR University) notifications, and using a blend of NCERT books, trusted reference materials, and online practice tests ensures comprehensive preparation and improved results.

To perform well in Andhra Pradesh NEET 2026, focus entirely on NCERT Class 11 & 12 concepts, as the exam is strictly NCERT-driven. Prioritise Biology for scoring while practicing Physics and Chemistry regularly with numerical problem-solving and reaction-based questions. Use previous years’ papers and mock tests to understand real-exam difficulty levels.

Maintain a simple, effective routine: Learn Practice Revise.
Make short notes, revise formulas, reactions, and diagrams daily, and track mistakes regularly. Consistent revision, disciplined practice, and staying updated with NTA and AP counselling announcements will help you score high in NEET and perform well in Andhra Pradesh medical admissions.

West Bengal  NEET UG 2026 Exam Pattern

The West Bengal  NEET UG 2026 exam pattern is identical to the national NEET UG 2026 examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). West Bengal  does not conduct a separate entrance exam for MBBS or BDS admissions. Therefore, students seeking admission to government, private, minority, and deemed medical colleges in the state must qualify through the national-level NEET UG examination. The exam will be held in offline mode (pen-and-paper OMR based), and the tentative exam date for NEET UG 2026 is May 3, 2026.

For West Bengal  NEET-based admissions, candidates will attempt a single question paper comprising 180 mandatory multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Since 2025, the optional Section B has been removed, making all questions compulsory. The structure remains the same: 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions in Biology, maintaining the standard distribution followed across India.

The exam duration has been revised to 3 hours, instead of the earlier 3 hours and 20 minutes. The total marks remain 720, with a marking scheme awarding +4 marks for each correct answer and deducting –1 mark for every incorrect response, while unanswered questions receive no marks. NEET UG 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, and others, ensuring accessibility for candidates from West Bengal  and across the country.

The Major Changes Introduced in the West Bengal  NEET UG 2026

For the 2026 academic year, a few key changes are expected in the West Bengal  NEET UG counselling and admission process, which is conducted by the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS). Since West Bengal  does not conduct a separate medical entrance exam, all major updates are connected to state counselling, seat allotment rules, reservation updates, and document verification guidelines, based solely on NEET UG 2026 scores.

These changes are likely to affect admission under Government, Private, Deemed, Minority, and Management quota seats in West Bengal  medical colleges, including 85% State Quota and 15% All India Quota seats. Candidates must carefully follow the revised timelines, eligibility norms, and documentation procedures to secure a seat through AP NEET UG 2026 counselling.

The Major Changes Introduced in West Bengal  NEET UG 2026

1. Counselling-Process Changes

The West Bengal  NEET UG 2026 counselling is expected to be more streamlined and fully online under Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS). A centralised online document upload and verification system is likely to reduce the need for physical verification at designated centres. The state merit list will be auto-generated using NEET UG 2026 scores combined with West Bengal  reservation norms, ensuring faster and more transparent publication.

The counselling structure will continue to follow Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round, but the schedule is expected to be aligned more closely with the MCC All India Counselling timeline for quicker completion. Seat allotment notifications will likely be published in standardised PDF formats, clearly displaying NEET marks, state rank, local/non-local status, category, seat quota (Govt/Private), and allotted college details to enhance transparency for students.

2. Tie-Breaking / Merit-List Rules (West Bengal  Specific)

While West Bengal  will determine merit through NEET UG 2026 scores, the state-specific tie-breaking criteria may follow this order:

1.  Higher marks in Biology

2.  Higher marks in Chemistry

3.  Higher marks in Physics

4.  Higher overall NEET percentile

5.  Local Area Eligibility (AU Region / SVU Region / OU consideration for Non-Locals)

Unlike some states, age or nativity will not be used unless mandated by NMC/NTA updates. After tie-breaking, reservation-based ranking will be applied according to West Bengal  categories such as OC, EWS, BC-A/B/C/D/E, SC, ST, and others including local vs. non-local quota prioritisation to generate separate merit lists for each category and seat type.

3. Application / Eligibility / Administrative Changes

The West Bengal  NEET UG 2026 application system may introduce automated verification of local status, caste/community certificates, and Aadhaar-linked identity checks through state government databases. For Management, NRI, and Minority Quota seats, documentation rules are expected to follow revised norms, including compulsory sponsor relationship proof, notarised financial validity certificates, and passport details.

The online upload process may require specific formats and updated verification standards for documents such as:

  • Local/Non-Local Status Certificate
  • Caste/Community Certificate
  • Aadhaar-linked Residence Proof
  • Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • NEET UG Scorecard & Admit Card
  • Income Certificate (for EWS/eligible categories)

The seat matrix for Government, Private, Deemed, and Minority medical colleges in West Bengal  is likely to be updated for 2026, reflecting the addition of new colleges, potential seat hikes, or revised reservation allocations. AP is also expected to adopt the latest UGMEB/NMC eligibility guidelines, including subject weightage, attempt limits (if applicable), and document norms for 2026.

4. Impact for Aspirants: What to Be Aware Of

Since West Bengal  admissions depend entirely on NEET UG 2026 scores, state rank and local area eligibility (AU/SVU regions) will significantly influence chances in government seats. With stricter online verification, students must secure their Local Status Certificate, Community Certificate, Residence Proof, and other required documents early to avoid last-minute delays.

The faster counselling timeline means aspirants must track deadlines closely, as missing a scheduled round may push them to the next round, reducing govt seat chances. Revised NRI/Management quota documentation requires early preparation of passport, sponsor proof, OCI/NRI documents, and financial evidence.

If new colleges are introduced or seat numbers rise, it may improve chances for all categories, especially in private and minority colleges. Students should frequently check the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) official website, as AP counselling dates depend on NEET UG 2026 results and MCC schedule updates.

Andhra Pradesh NEET UG – Books to Refer

Preparing for the Andhra Pradesh NEET UG, which depends entirely on the national NEET exam, requires choosing the right study materials that build strong fundamentals and provide exam-focused practice. Since all MBBS and BDS seats in Andhra Pradesh are allotted based on NEET UG scores, the quality of books selected directly influences performance, accuracy, and rank under AP state quota and local categories.

For Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 preparation, students must rely on three core categories of learning resources:
NCERT textbooks
Standard reference books
Chapter-wise MCQ and practice books

NCERT should always be the starting point, as NEET Biology, major Chemistry questions, and many Physics MCQs are directly based on NCERT lines, diagrams, and examples. Once NCERT concepts are mastered, aspirants can move to standard references to strengthen deeper concepts, numerical skills, and application-based questions.

Preparation Tips for Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Syllabus

  • Follow NCERT books thoroughly for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as Andhra Pradesh admissions are entirely based on NEET UG 2026 scores, and NCERT forms the foundation of the exam questions.
  • Prepare a subject-wise study timetable covering every chapter from Class 11 & 12 as prescribed in the NEET syllabus; maintain a balanced schedule between high-weightage and difficult topics.
  • Solve previous years’ NEET question papers regularly to understand the national-level competition, type of questions, and commonly repeated concepts—crucial for AP aspirants aiming for government seats.
  • Use standard reference books along with NCERTs (like H.C. Verma for Physics, O.P. Tandon for Chemistry, Trueman’s Biology) to strengthen concepts when needed, especially for numerical and mechanism-based topics.
  • Revise Physics formulas, Chemistry reactions, and Biology diagrams frequently, as these areas highly influence accuracy and speed in MCQs.
  • Take full-length NEET mock tests and chapter-wise tests to improve time management and monitor performance. Mock analysis helps identify weak areas before the Andhra Pradesh counselling process begins.
  • Focus on high-weightage chapters such as Human Physiology, Genetics, Thermodynamics, Motion, Optics, Chemical Bonding, and Plant Physiology to boost NEET scores effectively.
  • Track your weekly progress by maintaining a notebook for mistakes, formulas, reactions, and quick revision notes. This helps improve retention and performance before AP state merit list release.
  • Stay updated with official YSR University counselling announcements, so you understand how NEET marks translate into state rank, category cutoff, and local quota admissions in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Maintain consistent revision cycles—daily, weekly, and monthly, as repeated revision is essential for retaining Biology’s theoretical content and Chemistry’s reaction mechanisms.

Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Cut-off for State Quota (85%)

The Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 cut-off for MBBS and BDS admissions under the 85% State Quota is released by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) after the declaration of NEET results. The cut-off varies every year depending on state-level competition, seat availability, and candidate performance, and is published round-wise during the AP NEET UG counselling process.

Andhra Pradesh state quota cut-offs are influenced by several state-specific factors, including:
• Andhra Pradesh local/non-local eligibility, determined primarily through Study Certificates from Class 4 to 12.
• Seat distribution across Government and Private (Self-Financing) medical and dental colleges, including any newly approved seats.
• Reservation categories such as OC, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, SC, ST, EWS, and PwD, with category-wise opening and closing ranks.
• Quota type, including Government Quota vs Management/NRI quota, which significantly impacts closing ranks and required scores.

The final admission cut-off depends on the candidate’s AP state rank, category, preference (web options), and real-time seat availability in each counselling round (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy). Government medical colleges typically close at higher scores, while private and management quota seats may see lower cut-offs in later rounds. Candidates should regularly track the YSRUHS AP NEET UG counselling portal for updated cut-off lists and seat matrices throughout the counselling process.

How Andhra Pradesh NEET UG Cut-off Impacts Counselling

Candidates who score equal to or above the Andhra Pradesh NEET UG qualifying and admission cut-off become eligible to:

· Register for AP State Quota counselling (85% seats) conducted by YSRUHS
· Apply for Government Medical & Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh
· Participate in Government Quota admissions in private medical/dental colleges
· Apply for Management/NRI quota seats in private and minority institutions across the state

Higher scores significantly increase chances of:

· Securing a Government MBBS seat in Andhra Pradesh
· Getting admission into top AP colleges like GMC Vizag, GMC Kurnool, GMC Vijayawada, GMC Guntur, SVIMS Tirupati, and RIMS Srikakulam
· Receiving preferred choice of college and branch during early counselling rounds
· Claiming seats in high-demand private medical colleges at lower fees under government quota

Why NEET Cut-off Varies Every Year (Andhra Pradesh)

The Andhra Pradesh NEET cut-off changes each year because:

• If the exam is easier, students score higher AP cut-off increases
When more AP candidates qualify or competition grows, cut-off rises
If new medical seats are added in AP colleges, cut-off may reduce slightly
Higher demand for top AP colleges (like Vizag, Kurnool, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati) pushes cut-off higher
Difficulty level + number of seats + student performance together decide the final AP cut-off

Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Cut-off for MBBS Abroad

• Students from Andhra Pradesh who plan to study MBBS in foreign countries (such as Russia, China, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, etc.) must also qualify NEET UG 2026 with at least the minimum qualifying cut-off.
Without meeting the NEET qualifying mark, students will not be allowed to enroll in MBBS programs abroad, and they cannot receive eligibility documentation from NMC/YSRUHS needed for foreign admissions.

Validity

• The NEET UG 2026 score is expected to remain valid for 3 years for Andhra Pradesh students applying to MBBS abroad.
This allows students to join a foreign medical university within three academic years without reappearing for NEET again, as long as they have qualified in NEET UG 2026.

Impact of These Changes (For Andhra Pradesh NEET Aspirants)

  • Students in Andhra Pradesh may benefit from a slightly earlier awareness about exam & application schedules, allowing better planning for both NEET and state counselling.
  • With the NCERT-reduced syllabus continuing, students from AP state and CBSE schools can focus on strengthening NCERT chapters instead of rushing through additional topics.
  • Since the exam pattern remains unchanged, AP aspirants can continue using the same books, mock tests, and preparation strategy used by 2024 candidates.
  • The early release of city intimation and admit card helps AP students traveling to other cities, reducing last-minute stress and travel confusion.
  • State counselling for AP is expected to follow a similar timeline, so students do not need to worry about delayed admissions or changes to the academic schedule.
  • Consistency in exam mode and question style reduces uncertainty, allowing students to focus deeply on theory, diagrams, and repeated MCQ practice.
  • AP students can rely heavily on previous NEET papers, as difficulty trends and weightage are expected to remain stable.
  • Coaching centers and online programs in Andhra Pradesh can align their modules more accurately, ensuring focused learning throughout the year.
  • Repeaters face reduced transition issues since they can reuse prior notes, solved papers, and strategy plans without major modifications.

Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2025 Counselling Update

The Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2025 counselling process is being conducted by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) for MBBS and BDS admissions under both Government Quota and Management/NRI Quota seats in state medical and dental colleges. The first round of counselling has already been completed, with seat allotment results released and candidates required to report to their allotted colleges within the specified time frame.

As several seats still remain vacant, the counselling has now progressed into subsequent phases, including Round 2 and Round 3, providing fresh opportunities for candidates who did not secure a seat earlier or those seeking an upgraded allotment. If vacancies continue after these main rounds, the state is likely to conduct a mop-up or stray vacancy round to fill the remaining seats in both government and private institutions.

Candidates are advised to closely track the official notifications regarding registration schedules, web options (choice filling), allotment results, and reporting deadlines, as admission will be confirmed only after successful document verification and physical reporting to the allotted college. Regular monitoring is important because vacancy positions, seat availability and upgrade chances change with every round of counselling.

Key Updates & Developments – Andhra Pradesh NEET UG Counselling

Round 1 Seat Notification & Verification

  • YSRUHS temporarily paused the Round 1 seat publication to re-verify the submitted documents of several candidates.
  • Colleges were instructed to recheck study certificates (Class 4–12), category documents, and local-status eligibility.
  • Only after document validation is completed, the final Round 1 seat allotment list is published.

Extended Registration & Document Upload

  • The counselling registration window was extended to allow students more time to upload study certificates, caste/EWS, NCC, and PH documents.
  • The deadline for fee payment and document upload was extended alongside this registration update.
  • Candidates with unclear certificates were asked to re-upload during the extension period.

Round 2 Start & Additional Seats

  • Round 2 commenced after new MBBS/BDS seats were incorporated from colleges that received NMC approval in the same academic year.
  • Due to the addition of these seats, YSRUHS extended the web options (choice filling) so that candidates could update their preferences.
  • Revised seat matrix was released, reflecting increased seats for both Government and Private medical colleges.

Revised Round 2 Timeline (Typical Pattern)

  • Registration / Fee Payment Opens (for eligible candidates not registered earlier)
  • Web Options / Choice Filling Extension
  • Choice Locking Deadline (late evening close time)
  • Seat Allotment Result Publication
  • Reporting to Allotted Colleges (strict physical verification)

(Exact dates vary yearly but follow the same sequence.)

Round 3 & Mop-Up Round Adjustments

  • Round 3 schedule revised following updated vacancy reports from colleges after Round 2 joining.
  • Colleges were required to submit real-time vacancy data before the start of mop-up.
  • Stray vacancy round likely to be held if seats remain after Round 3.

NRI & Special Category Verification

  • NRI applications were scrutinized for embassy-verified affidavits, sponsored relations, and financial eligibility.
  • Candidates applying under CAP (Army), NCC, Sports, PwD had to provide fresh or updated certificates, which were re-verified before seat allocation.
  • Temporary relaxation was given to candidates whose documents were submitted before the notified deadline, subject to additional verification.

What This Means for Andhra Pradesh NEET UG Candidates

  • Check the AP medical counselling portal frequently, as deadlines for registration, document re-upload, and web options may change between rounds.
  • Review and reorder your web options (choice list) whenever new seats or revised seat matrices are released, as additional seats may improve your chances of getting a better college.
  • Keep all essential documents ready and updated, including NEET scorecard, Aadhaar, Study Certificates (Class 4–12), Caste/EWS certificates, and special quota certificates (NCC/Sports/CAP/PwD if applicable).
  • If you have been allotted a seat but want an upgrade, make sure to follow the official resignation or upgradation deadlines, as these are strictly enforced by YSRUHS.
  • Participate actively in later rounds like Round 2, Round 3, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy rounds, since new seats, withdrawals, and updated college vacancies may open fresh opportunities for admission.

Final Word

  • The Andhra Pradesh NEET UG counselling process has also shown a dynamic and evolving pattern, with frequent updates in seat availability, revised timelines for registration and web options, and continuous document scrutiny to ensure accurate verification. For students, this creates a scenario filled with both opportunity and responsibility — added seats, revised matrices, and extended web-option windows increase access to medical colleges, but the shifting schedules demand consistent vigilance.
  • To secure the best outcome, candidates must stay alert, follow every official notification from YSRUHS, and adjust their choice filling based on new vacancy updates and future seat additions. A proactive and flexible strategy — along with timely document submission and careful option selection — can significantly improve your chances of obtaining a favourable seat in the upcoming rounds of Andhra Pradesh NEET UG counselling.

You need to register online through the official counselling portal (ughealth.ap.gov.in) by providing NEET details, personal information, and uploading required documents.

3. Is NEET mandatory for admission in Andhra Pradesh medical colleges?
Yes. NEET qualification is compulsory for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, Nursing, and allied health courses (where NEET is applicable).

4. Which certificates are required to prove AP local status?
You must upload study certificates from Class 4 to 12 studied in Andhra Pradesh. Without this, you will be considered non-local, even if you live in AP.

5. What if I studied outside AP? Can I still apply?
Yes. You can apply under the non-local category. You can still get seats under management quota or based on eligibility rules, but state-quota priority is lower for non-locals.
