College of Dental Sciences, established in 1991 has shown an excellent academic achievement in a short span of time under the able leadership of Director Dr. Vasundhara Shivanna & Principal Dr. I.M Ali. College of Dental Sciences offers opportunities you would not find anywhere else. This is an institution involved in rich amalgamation of scientific enquiry and comprehensive dental care service. At this institution we believe in educating the students to develop a good relationship between patient and doctor, efficiently manage a dental office, design a good treatment plan and utilize the state of the art materials and techniques. Our goal is to supplement the existing pool of dental and medical knowledge with an intention to promote public health. We strive to educate dentists with a broader vision who will play a leading role in oral health care in the next millennium. The college has a faculty with expertise, many of whom are recognized authorities in their respective field. The staff is especially committed to clinical training, working extensively and intensively with students on one – to – one basis for total patient care. The teaching and hospital facilities at college of dental science are accommodated in two interconnected buildings, which are situated inproximity to the J.J.M Medical College, Bapuji Hospital and Chigateri General Hospital. This proximity and the reputation of our institute ensure a large flow of patients with wide ranging pathological conditions and an inter specialty management of these patients exists.

Each department is spaciously designed to accommodate separate undergraduate and postgraduate clinics, laboratories, seminar rooms and patient waiting lounges. Five lecture hall (seating capacity of 100 each) and a seminar hall (Seating capacity of 250) serve the regular teaching and continuing education programs.

Under Graduation Admission
The College of Dental Sciences has achieved a remarkable record ever since it was founded in 1991. The Institution was recognized by the Dental Council of India in 1996. Presently we admit 100 students to the BDS Course every Year.

Criteria for Admission to B.D.S. Course
Have completed 17 Years of age as on the 31st December of the Admission Year.
Be medically fit to undergo the course and practice dentistry.
Have passed the Karnataka II PUC examination or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages.
Have secured 50% Marks in these three subjects and English taken together.
However, for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, the minimum marks are 40%.
Admission to the course based on NEET Eligibility CARD.

Admission Procedure
Candidate should submit the application form along with the following certified copies.

NEET RANK CARD (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test)
S.S.L.C. (10th Std) Marks Card.
12th Std. Marks Card.
Transfer Certificate.
Date of Birth Certificate (if it is not in the 10th Marks card).
Blood Group Report.
Migration Certificate by Board(Not Applicable to P.U.C. Board students).
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe students should produce Caste & Income Certificate.
Physical Fitness Certificate with marks of identification.
Photo copy of Parent’s PAN CARD.
4 Nos. of Pass Port size and 2 Nos. of Stamp Size Photographs of student.
Passport size Photographs of Father & mother (One each).
Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. (Not Applicable to P.U.C. Board students).

BDCH Davangere Placements
BDCH Davangere Placements 2023: The Placement Cell of the college provides students with the opportunity to work at reputable dental organisations in its own dental hospital and across the country. Every year, a number of organisations come to recruit students from the Bapuji Dental College and Hospital placements. According to NIRF 2023 data, the BDCH Davangere average package offered to students placed after the MDS programme in 2021-22 was Rs. 6,20,000. The placement cell of the college invites many organisations and companies to its campus to recruit students.

The college and visiting organisations finalise the dates to conduct the placement drive.

Interested students need to register for the placement drive and complete the due process.

Written exams, aptitude tests, personal interviews and group conversations are all possible methods involving the selection process.

Students who successfully merit the selection process are given a placement opportunity by the organisation.

The Colgate Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship & Mentorship Program for BDS Course 2022-23 is a dental scholarship program offered under the Colgate Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship & Mentorship Programme. It is one of the dental scholarships available in India.

BDCH Davangere Facilities
BDCH Davangere Facilities: The college has a well-maintained campus area. BDCH Davangere facilities include hostel facilities, library facilities, sports facilities, transport facilities and many more. The college takes care of the needs of its students and provides them with all the necessary facilities. Bapuji Dental College and Hospital, Davangere library facilities have an abundance of reading material and journals for faculty and students. Along with all the above-mentioned facilities, the college also has a cafeteria, gym, first-aid medical facilities and modern IT infrastructure. Boys Hostel
The college provides a hostel to its boys students for accommodation. BDCH hostel facilities are well-maintained. The hostel rooms are spacious and well-furnished. Also, the hostel has space for recreational activities where students can play indoor games like chess and carrom, watch TV and do many other activities. The facilities provided in the hostel are meals, transportation, 24/7 internet services and many more.


Girls Hostel
The college also provides separate accommodation facilities for girls students also in its campus. Three girls' hostels namely Hemavathi, Vedavathi and Netravathi are situated in the same block. The hostel rooms are spacious and well-furnished. Also, the hostel has space for recreational activities where students can play indoor games like chess and carrom, watch TV and do many other activities. The facilities provided in the hostel are meals, transportation, 24/7 internet services and many more.


Medical/Hospital
Medical facilities are also provided to the college’s students. First-aid medical facilities at the health centre are available at the BDCH Davangere campus.


Library
BDCH library facilities are a major facility provided by the college. The library is full of standard textbooks pertinent to the course along with other learning books. The library is regularly updated with Indian and foreign journals. Currently, the library has a collection of thousands of books and many Indian and international journals. The library has an audiovisual room. The main library has a seating capacity of about 300 which is illuminated by natural light.


Sports
BDCH sports facilities include indoor and outdoor sports facilities for the students. The indoor sports facilities have games like Carrom, Chess and Table Tennis.


I.T Infrastructure
The BDCH Davangere IT infrastructure is excellent and well-maintained. It enables the students to use the latest technology and be familiar with it.


Cafeteria
The college has a cafeteria area for staff and students to meet their basic eating and drinking needs.

Auditorium
The college has an auditorium to organise events, seminars, workshops and other activities. The auditorium also hosts cultural events organised by the college for students.


Gym
BDCH gym facilities are available for students. The gym is housed with all facilities. The gym is equipped with training equipment like treadmills, exercise machines and rowing machines.
