Admission Procedure

Admission to Diphu Medical College & Hospital is based on NEET-UG scores, with 15% of seats allocated to the All India Quota and 85% to the State Quota. For All India Quota admissions, counseling is handled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam manages counseling for the State Quota.

Admission Process

• Take the NEET‑UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) exam conducted by NTA. A valid NEET score is mandatory. 

• State & All‑India Quota Counselling: Seats are allocated via counselling. In Assam, there is an Assam State Quota and also an All‑India Quota (AIQ). Applicants must participate in state counselling (through the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam) and/or the MCC counselling for AIQ seats. 

• Document Verification & Reporting: Once seats are allotted, candidates must report to the college with the required original documents for verification and pay admission/counselling fee. 

• Completion of Formalities: After verification, submission of documents, and fee payment, admission is confirmed.

Eligiblity

• Age: Candidate must be at least 17 years old on or before 31st December of the year of admission. 

• Academic Qualifications: Must have passed the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as subjects

• Minimum Marks:
    • For General category: at least 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) in the qualifying exam. 
    • For reserved categories (SC / ST / OBC / PwBD): lower minimum (often 40%) as per NMC / relevant rules.

• NEET Qualifying Score: Must qualify NEET‑UG (meeting the cutoff percentile/score for respective category) to be eligible for counselling and admission.

• Other Conditions:
    • Must fulfill the other requirements as per MBBS / BDS Admission Rules (for example pass in required subjects, submission of required documents). 
    • Candidates from Open School / private boards need their qualification recognized, but sometimes Open School/private may not be eligible to appear for NEET in certain rules.
