About

Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), (Deemed to be University) located in Chennai, was established in the year 2005 and is one of the 15 Private Universities in the country to enjoy complete Academic Autonomy based on its continued good rankings.  The Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust was created in 1986 mainly to provide Medical Relief, Promote Education and Encourage Research by Dr M N Veeraiyan, the Architect and Chancellor of Saveetha Educational Empire who began his journey in education with Saveetha Dental College & Hospital in Chennai in 1988.  

The service to the cause of education was extended to other fields in order to comply with its commitment to serve the people, especially those living in Rural Villages in and around Chennai and adjoining districts of Tamilnadu.  Since 1988 the following Colleges have been established under the SIMATS umbrella:

Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences conducts an online admission procedure. The students (co-ed) are required to qualify for National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), Common Law Admission Tes (CLAT) and Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE-MAIN) as made mandatory for the specific programs after the completion of 10+2 level with qualifying marks. The students are required to visit the website for checking the merit list which would be published with the names of the selected candidates on the basis of merits scored.

Admission Criteria

MBBS Admission 2025

SIMATS offers an MBBS program. Admission to the MBBS program is through the NEET Exam. The total fee for the MBBS program is INR 1.26 Crore.

B.Tech Admission 2025

SIMATS offers a B.Tech program with 4 specialisations, such as Information Technology, Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, etc. Admission to the B.Tech program is through JEE Main. The total fee for the B.Tech program is around INR 6.15 Lakhs.

B.Sc Admission 2025

SIMATS offers a B.Sc program with 36 specialisations such as Cardiovascular Technology, Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology, Biomedical Science, etc. Admission to the B.Sc. program is based on merit. The total fee for the B.Sc program is around INR 5 Lakhs.

M.Sc Admission 2025

SIMATS offers an M.Sc. program with 33 specialisations, such as Clinical Psychology, Allied Medical Sciences, Medical Microbiology, etc. Admission to the M.Sc. program is based on merit. The total fee for the M.Sc. program is INR 2 - 3.75 Lakhs.

Placements

Scholarship

Saveetha College offers scholarships based on high school marks, with significant reductions for students achieving high percentages. For students scoring above 90%, scholarships can reduce fees by 75%; those with 80% receive a 50% reduction, while students with 70% or above get a 25% reduction. Fee structures vary by department and are influenced by the student's marks in their intermediate or 12th class exams. As of 2022, the fee structure for students scoring 80% or above in departments like ECE is Rs. 1,50,000 per year, while those scoring between 60% and 70% pay Rs. 1,75,000, and those below 50% pay Rs. 2,00,000.

Scholarships are not universally available for all courses, and there is no management quota or admission fees. Education loans are accessible for students who require them.
