AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology, established in the year 2016, is a leading private Engineering College located in Mangalore, Karnataka.  Commonly known as AJIET, the Institute is a unit of the Laxmi Memorial Education Trust (1991), established in memory of Late Smt. Laxmi Shetty, mother of Dr. A. J. Shetty, who is the President and Managing Director of the Trust. 

The AJIET Campus is sprawled in 11 acres of land in Kottara Chowki, Ashok Nagar, Mangaluru, Karnataka. 

 
AJ Institute of Engineering & Technology is in Affiliation with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgavi and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.  The institute is NBA Accredited for UG Programs - Department of Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Science & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering valid up to 30-06-2025.  The college has also entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with organizations such as the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (St. Petersburg), Epitas Software LLP, and Graphene Media Pvt. Ltd. 

 
AJIET offers 2 Degrees and 15 Courses across different departments in Engineering.   The courses include BE (in 8 disciplines) and PhD (in 7 different branches).  The eligibility for admission to the UG program is based on the scores obtained in Karnataka CET Exams.

The Career Guidance And Training & Placement Department at AJIET initiates and conducts various Placement related activities like Training, Mock sessions, Placement Drives etc. It has a Central Placement Team with Staff representatives from every technical department overseeing its activities. The student coordinators nominated act as an interface between the student group and staff placement coordinators.  The Department provides all required infrastructural facilities like well-equipped Conference Training Room and separate well-furnished Rooms for Interviews and Counselling simultaneously.   Air Conditioned Personal Interview Cabins and Group Discussion Rooms, fully equipped AC Seminar Halls for Pre Placement talk and Provision to conduct written test for 800 candidates as well as 400 computers for online test are also available.  Airport shuttle service and hospitality services are provided for the corporate guests at its 3 star Hotel Moti Mahal.   Top Recruiters like TCS, Infosys, Robosoft, Toppr, Sonata Software, CTS, FederalBank, UAE EXchange, 2adpro, Mindtree, JuegoStudeos, Codilar, Amazon, IBM, Mphasis, Oracle, etc are frequent visitors to the Institute for campus recruitment.

The main objective of the institution is to impart high quality theoretical knowledge, ably and well supported by adequate practice in laboratories, workshop, drawing rooms etc. to turn the student into a highly competent professional and at the same time an exemplary human being in the service of the state and the nation and to become a proud global citizen. About Career Guidance, Training and Placement:

The Training & Placement Department is the one which initiates and conducts various placement related activities like training, placement drives etc. It has a central placement team with staff representatives from every technical department overseeing its activities. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinator: Looks into engaging the best suited training service provider, approaching corporate houses for recruitment and maintaining a cordial relationship with the members of the pool placement team members. Also looks at corporate interfacing through continued interaction with corporates. Overseeing conduction of placement drives.

Staff members: Interface between students and Central placement committee towards disseminating of information, collection of student data and effective conduction of placement drives. Also smooth conduction of various training programs organized at the campus. Data maintaining regarding placement drives, results and other statistics.

Student members: The student members assist staff coordinators in passing relevant information to fellow students about the placement drives and act as volunteers in smooth conduction of a placement drive.

Scholarships

AJIET planes to Institute Merit Scholarships to one student per batch. In addition we shall provide freeship to desevring students as per the norms. it will be ensured that the total amount for freeships and scholarships shall be eaqual to or higher than the interest recieved against refundable performance warranty free(RPGF from AICTE).

General Facilities

 

 

Sports and Games

Sports facilities are provided to the students under the Professor of Physical education. We have facilities for indoor and outdoor activities. Indoor facilities are provided for Table Tennis, Chess and Caroms. Outdoor facilities are provided for Volleyball, Basketball, football, cricket, shuttle Badminton and athletics. With the commissioning of the auditorium indoor basketball and shuttle court also will be functioning.

 

 

 

Language Lab

A Language Lab with 20 computers has been installed to improve the communication skills of the students. During their period of study in the college, compulsory classes for communication would be conducted. This lab is being installed to improve the style and skill of both written and oral communication of the students, which is essential for the placements.

 

 

Seminar Hall

Fully equipped Seminar Halls are available in all departments. Each one is provided with an LCD projector, audio system and laptop.

 

 

Smart Classrooms

As a first step in making the classrooms as smart classrooms each department is provided with a movable LCD projector along with a laptop which can be used in the classes.

 

 

Central Library

The AJIET library with its state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities provides a good academic atmosphere in extending comprehensive and wide ranging services to the users.

 

 

Central Computer Center

Central Computer Centre, one of the premium Central Learning Resource Centre of the Institute was established in 2016.

Industry Institute partnership cell (IIPC) is established for enhancing the relationship between the institute and industry.

 

 

Health Care Center

The Health Care Center offers physical assessments of health problems and primary care for illnesses and injuries on campus, making appropriate referrals as necessary.
