Aalim Muhammed Salegh College of Engineering (AMSCE), Chennai, Tamil Nadu was established by the  Aalim Muhammed Salegh Trust in the year 1990 as Private Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Engineering.  the Management of AMSCE Chennai is working under ALHAJ. DR. S. M. SHAIK NURDDIN (Founder).  

Dr. S. M. Shaik Nurddin founded the Aalim Muhammed Salegh Trust after his fathers name.  Aalim Muhammed Salegh Trust aims to impact technical and medical education to aspiring students. It also focuses on providing educational opportunities to students belonging to weaker social and economic sections as well as to those who hail from backward communities. Lack of economic means should not be a constraint to the poor and the indigent to acquire education and tread the path of progress and development. This underlying commitment is the spirit behind the trust that promotes education amongst all strata of the society with a view to dispel ignorance and superstition, eradicate illiteracy and equip the youth with knowledge and training that will improve their employability and pave way for their gainful employment eventually leading to the development of the society as a whole.

The college offers a number of UG and PG courses.  The aspiring students can choose from BE degree Courses in Computer Science, Electronic and Communication, Electric and Electronic, Civil, Mechanical and  Information Technology as also  B.Tech and B.Arch programmes and  Masters programmes like MBA and MCA.

AMSEC knows the importance of its students getting placed, and to provide its students with the placement process, the college has established a Career Planning and Development (CPD) Cell. This cell is headed by an experienced placement officer. The  CPD Cell prepares its  students in a way that they become placement ready by Organising regular Personality Development Programs with mock interviews, group discussions, aptitude tests, and professional resume-making.  It Organises training program  as well as guest lectures and industrial visits for 2nd, 3rd, and final year students.

Admission Process:

• TNEA Counseling:
  Based on the marks obtained in Class 12 (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry), candidates will be allotted seats through TNEA counseling. The counseling process includes document verification, seat allotment, and fee payment. Candidates who are allotted a seat at AMSCE can confirm their admission by paying the required fees and submitting the necessary documents.
  
• Direct Admission (JEE Candidates):
  Candidates who have appeared for JEE Main and meet the eligibility criteria may be admitted directly through the management quota or under the Government Quota if they meet the required cutoff.
  
• Merit-Based Admission:
  AMSCE also admits candidates based on the merit list prepared by TNEA or through management quota for those who have excellent academic credentials.
  

Eligibility:

• Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
• A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 examination (for general category candidates) in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
• Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission.

Placement:

Training Programme Overview:

The CPD Cell offers regular placement training for Pre-Final Year and Final Year students during the 2022-2023 academic year. This training focuses on enhancing students' skills in Aptitude (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Verbal Ability) and Soft Skills.

The training programme is conducted throughout both the odd and even semesters. Study materials are provided to all students in alignment with the training content.
