Acharya Institute of Technology in Bangalore is a premier private co-educational Engineering and Management Institute that focuses on exceptional Education, Research, and Global impact.  AIT was established in the year 2000 by Shri Premnath Reddy, Chairman of the Acharya Group of Institutions and is managed by the JMJ Education Society.

 
The sprawling 120-acre AIT campus boasts impressive infrastructure and lush green surroundings on the Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Road, Acharya P.O Soladevanahalli, Bangalore, Karnataka.  The Institute has been awarded with "Technical Campus" status by AICTE. A striking feature of the architecture of every building is that it is made in the shape of the initials of every department when seen from the top (For eg - M for Mechanical, E for Electrical, etc). The campus has its own sewage treatment plant and has made use of rain water harvesting and created a four-acre artificial lake.

 
The Acharya Institute of Technology is affiliated to the Visvesaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. Accredited in 2012, the institute was granted "Technical Campus" status by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.  AIT is also accredited by NAAC with B++ grade and NBA (National Board of Accreditation).  It is one of the seven colleges in Karnataka to be funded by the World Bank and receives endowments from the VTU to carry out research in both its undergraduate and postgraduate departments.  The Deccan Herald lists AIT as one of the "notable" colleges to apply the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) for admission to Postgraduate Management courses.

 
The Institute receives a "Modernisation and Removal of Obsolescence" grant from the AICTE for research activities and upgraded laboratory facilities. The Visvesvaraya Technological University recognises the college's departments of Biotechnology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mathematics, and Mechanical Engineering as research centers.

 
Acharya Institute of Technology offers a variety of UG and PG programs in the fields of Engineering, Management and Computer Application with approximately 1000 seats annually.  Under UG level it offers B.E. degree program in 14 disciplines.  Among PG it offers MTech in 7 disciplines as well as MBA and MCA degree programs.  The accepted exams for admission to UG program is KCET/COMEDK.  It also admits 150 foreigners from 25 countries under "PIO Quota".  Admission to the MTech program and MCA programs are based on GATE/PGCET exams.  For MBA the admissions are based on KMAT scores. The college has tie-ups in India, with Mysore University and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay providing University twinning programs.

Admissions

Through Entrance Test (CET/COMEDK/University/PGCET)
Student appears for an entrance exam (Pertaining to the particular program)
Student has to meet the eligibility criteria as laid down by the Board/University
The Board/University evaluates the student and ranks the student based on their performance in the entrance exam
The Board/University conducts an online/single window counseling where in the student is allotted the course/college as per merit
The student pays the specified fee to the Board/University
Once the allotment is done, the student has to visit the college and complete the admission formalities. The student also has to pay the remainder of the fee, if any, at the college

Hostels: Acharya Institute has separate hostels for boys and girls. The institute has 5 boys hostels and 7 girls hostels. The hostels have all the utilities which can fulfill the basic requirements of the students. Some of the facilities are a dining hall for food, common room for TV and newspaper, both indoor and outdoor sports facilities and laundry.

Library: Learning Resource Centre-a central library is present in the center of the institute. The library has a good collection of books and journals related to the courses of study and also has a subscription to various e-resources for online study material and journals.

Boys Hostel
The college has boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. accommodated in a single, double, three bedded rooms and common areas with TV and Newspaper. Residents can avail themselves of the sports facilities, horse- riding and other facilities. Well-equipped Laundry services are provided for residents. Each Residence is managed under the supervision of the Chief Warden and Deputy Warden, who are the faculty members of Acharya along with the assistance of Managers and Supervisors.

The tournament traditionally takes place during the month of March and attracts the best cricketers and cricket fans on campus. Acharya Football League is a 5 a side football tournament that takes place annually on campus. With International and Indian students sharing the pitch to flaunt their footballing skills and passion to take their team to glory. The tournament is played under the light in front of a packed arena during the month of March every year. Acharya Pro Kabaddi League is an in-house Kabaddi competition that takes place annually during the month of March. The competition takes place during the evening in front of a cheerful crowd supporting the raiders and defender of their favourite team. Acharya Volleyball Tournament engages students and faculty in the sport Acharya is most successful in. The tournament takes place as part of Acharya Habba's sporting event and attracts hundreds of volleyball players and fans to the arena. To add to the visual aesthetics, the tournament takes place under lights and forms a spectacle with its high-quality competitive standards.
