Acharya Patashala College of Commerce is one of the oldest and most reputed colleges of Bengaluru. It is a subsidiary of the famous 'Acharya Patashala' group of institutions, founded by Late. Sri. N Ananthacharya in the year 1935.

It gives me an immense pleasure to welcome and introduce you to our ACHARYA PATHASALA COLLEGE OF COMMERCE (APSCC), Bangalore. Since 1956 our college has been imparting quality education in Commerce, along with Arts and Science, from 1986 onwards we became a separate entity imparting only Commerce stream, 1992-Management, and M. Com since 2000. This development was possible only because of ever supportive Management Team, dedicated College Staff and the demands of the Aspirants.

Shri. N Ananthachar, the founder of the Acharya Pathasala Educational Trust (APSET), had an incisive understanding of the social ills that beset his times and fully realized the dire need of the spread of education as a panacea for all the social ills. From its beginning, APSE Trust had laid its emphasis on the education for the downtrodden and the poor that really form the major bulk of the society.

Since its establishment, the college is taking high strides in achieving its success. The college is situated in the Heart of the City which can be accessed easily from all the directions of the City and outside, with excellent public transport facilities. The Stone building and possession of State-of-the-Art infrastructure which adds grandeur in the beauty of the college. The college is spread over 4 acres of land. We provide quality higher education in Commerce and Management streams at 2 graduate levels and 1 at the postgraduate level.

Qualifications for admission to the Degree course:


The students who are desirous of getting admission to the college for degree course should possess the following educational qualifications:

* Pass in PUC Examination conducted by the PU Board, Government of Karnataka or 10+2/Equivalent Exam.
* Candidates coming from outside the country shall be admitted to Degree course only on the production of a provisional eligibility certificate issued by the department. They should obtain such a certificate from the Director, Department Degree on application by paying the prescribed fees and enclosing a photocopy (duly attested by a Gazetted officer) of the pass certificate obtained at the qualifying examination. However candidate from State/Union territories outside Karnataka (are governed by the conditions specified in Government Order No. ED/45/SHH-95, dated 25.05.95) shall obtain the provisional eligibility certificate from the concerned principals and the Migration certificate issued by the concerned authority for their admission approval from the University.


Qualifications for admission to the PG course M.A( Economics):



*Candidate should have passed B.A degree with Economics as one of the optional subject with a minimum of 50% marks in Economics and 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects.
* Courses for study: The three year degree course includes the following subjects for study. To get a Bachelor Degree, student should pass all the subjects by obtaining not less than 40% marks in all the six semesters
* PART I: Language: Kannada/Sanskrit and English.
*PART II: Arts Section ( Any one combination)
History, Economics, Political Science(HEP), History, Economics, Optional Kannada (HEK), History, Economics, Music(HEM), Sociology, Economics, Psychology(SEPsy),Journalism, Economics, Kannada(JEK)
*PART III: Science Section.
Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics(PCM)
*Admission Procedure: Qualified students desirous of getting admitted to the college can obtain the application form by paying the prescribed fee. Duly filled in forms have to be submitted to the college office within the stipulated date with the following documents attested.
*I. 1. Attested Xerox copy of the qualifying marks card.
2. Attested Xerox copy of the transfer certificate from his/her previous institution.
3. Recent passport/stamp size photograph.
4. Attested Xerox copy of the Migration Certificate for those students coming from outside Karnataka State.
*II. 1. A provisional list of selected candidates will be notified on the college notice board.
*2. Selected students have to appear for interview along with the parents or guardian on the date notified along with all the original documents for admission.
*3. Students will lose their right of admission if they do not pay the prescribed fee with in the stipulated date.
*4. All admissions are made on provisional basis, it will be regularized only after the approval from Bangalore University.
*5. The students have to pay the prescribed fee for obtaining eligibility certificates if they come from outside the State, Universities or Boards.

About Placement Cell
The main endeavor of placement cell, APS ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE is to get
students placed in reputed multinationals, government organizations, NGO's and the private
sector. All students registered with placement cell will be provided placement assistance,
counseling for employment and self /social entrepreneurship. The placement cell assures support
to the visiting companies at every stage of the placement process by making College
infrastructure available to them.
The Placement cell acts as an interface between the students and industries and is
dedicated to help the students to select from their career options. The placement cell is comprised
of placement officer and placement coordinators from each discipline.
We shall facilitate the selection process of all the companies as per their requirement. The PC
will liaison with corporate organizations to provide suitable jobs and internship for the
candidates completing their studies from the College.
One of the main responsibilities of the Placement Cell is to motivate, train and prepare
the students of the University and its affiliated Colleges for campus interviews. It plays a very
important and key role in counseling and guiding the students for their successful career
placement, which is a crucial interface for the students between the stages of completion of
academic programmes of studies and entry into suitable employment.
Activities of the Placement Cell include:
 Organizing On-and-Off campus interviews.
 Organizing training programmes like Personality Development Programmes,
Mock Aptitude tests, Group Discussion training and mock interviews.
 Co-coordinating semester long or year-long Project Placement for the Students.
 Organizing Student level workshops/meets with major Corporate.
 Facilitating Industry Institute Interactions by inviting experts for lectures, as
members of Committees, etc.

Transportation
The college,located 26 kilometres from the city centre, boasts excellent connectivity through a modern fleet of buses. These buses efficiently pick up students from key residential areas across the city and ensure their safe return after college hours. Our transportation service extends beyond daily commuting, facilitating student participation in diverse academic events within the city and beyond.

A total of eight buses travels different routes within the city, catering to both students and staff. Furthermore, the accessibility of BMTC, KSRTC, and private buses, which frequently ply along the National Highway, provides an additional commuting option.
