Admission Procedure

Admission to Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) for the MBBS course requires qualifying the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) and participating in the counselling process conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tripura, and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates must have passed 10+210 plus 2 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English, meeting the minimum percentage eligibility criteria

Admission Process

• Appear for NEET‑UG: Only students who qualify NEET‑UG are eligible for admission. 

• Register for counselling depending on seat quota:

  • State Quota (Tripura domicile) — seats reserved for residents of Tripura. themedical.college+1

  • All‑India Quota (AIQ) — a portion of seats filled through national-level counselling. 

  • Special/North‑East quota (for certain North‑East states) — as per state government allocation when applicable. 

• Choice filling & seat allotment: After registration, candidates fill their preferred colleges (including AGMC) and seat allotment is done based on NEET merit, quota, and preferences.

• Document verification & medical fitness: Selected candidates must present original documents (marksheets, certificates, domicile/residence proof, etc.) for verification. 

• Reporting to AGMC: Once allotment and verification are done, the candidate must report to AGMC to confirm admission.

  • The candidate must appear and qualify in NEET-PG, which is the national-level entrance exam for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses.

  • Score must meet the cut-off percentile defined for General/OBC/SC/ST/PwD categories.

  • State Quota (Tripura): 50% of seats in AGMC are reserved for Tripura state candidates. Candidates must register for the Tripura State PG Medical Counselling.

  • All India Quota (AIQ): 50% of seats are filled through AIQ counselling conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
