AKT Memorial College of Engineering and Technology also referred to as AKTMCET started its operations in the year 2009-2010.The A.K.T Group of Institutions was established by the A.K.T. Noble Cause Volunteers Trust in the name of famous philanthropist Thiru A K Thagapillai. The college is headed by a very distinguished, highly qualified and visionary personality in Dr T S Sivakumaran B.E, M.Tech, Ph.D as Principal.

AKTMCET is situated in its own lush green and sprawling land away from traffic and pollution in AKT Nagar, Neelamangalam, Kallakurichi (Dist) Tamilnadu. AKTMCET is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, New Delhi. It is a ISO 9001:2015 certified Institution and accredited to NAAC with "A" Grade.

AKTMCET had a B.Tech ranking of 333 out of 355 Colleges in Tamilnadu in the year 2024. AMTMCET offers 2 B.Tech and 5 B.E Courses in various disciplines apart from options in Science & Humanities.

The College has all required state of art and well equipped facilities on its campus for the benefit of the student and other campus community. Facilities and infra structure include smart classrooms with necessary facilities within, Hostel facilities, Auditorium, Seminar Halls, own fleet of Transport which is well connected, Canteen and Sports facilities.

Infosys Campus Connect Program in the campus has introduced its own 16 week courseware capsule to make students industry ready.

Admission Procedure

Admission Process

Placement

Training and Placement (T&P) cell acts as an interface between institute of companies and maintain symbiotic and purposeful relationship with industries across the states. It has built up an impressive placement record both in terms of number of students placed as well as number of companies visiting the campus.

T&P cell invites companies for on-campus and ensures aspirant students of a bright career on his/her choice. Seminar halls and training halls have been made available to the students for conducting the training and recruitment programmes. T&P cell caters to the needs of the students by providing training programmes that are inculcated with the regular academic schedule. The prime focus does not rest upon pre-final and final year students but the training programmes encompass all the students from the first year. Training is being conducted through internal and external trainers. All the department placement and training coordinators assist campus interviews and training programmes

1. Government Scholarships:

Eligible students can apply for scholarships provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Government of India. These include:

• Post-Matric Scholarships for SC/ST and OBC students: Offered by the Tamil Nadu government to support students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
