The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Guwahati, commonly known as AIIMS Guwahati, is located in Guwahati, Assam. It is an autonomous medical institute of national importance established in 2017 under the Government of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Admission Procedure

AIIMS Guwahati admissions for the MBBS and B.Sc. Nursing programs are based on performance in the NEET UG and AIIMS B.Sc. Entrance Exam, respectively, followed by online counselling conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). Post-graduate admissions for MD/MS programs require INI-CET scores.

 Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as subjects. They must also meet the age criteria set by the NEET-UG guidelines.

Admission is through the INI-CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test).

As part of the MD/MS programs, admission is through the INI-CET.

As AIIMS Guwahati is a newly established institute with its first MBBS batch starting in 2021 the placement process has not yet started for undergraduate students. In AIIMS institutes placement is not the main focus as most students go on to pursue postgraduate studies such as MD or MS after completing their MBBS.
