All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh was approved in February, 2009 under Phase-II of Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at an approved cost of Rs. 823 crore. The State Government had agreed to provide 148 acres of land. A Gazette Notification was issued on 13th August, 2013 for establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Rae Bareli. The Government of Uttar Pradesh transferred land measuring 97 acres out of already agreed 148 acres to the Central Government in July, 2013 for establishment of AIIMS Rae Bareli. The remaining 51 acres of land in under acquisition by the State Government and is expected to be provided in due course. The Ministry appointed M/s HSCC (India) Ltd as project management consultant for the project in July, 2013.

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOH&FW) has nominated Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh as the mentor Institute for AIIMS, Raebareli. The Director, PGIMER has been given additional charge of Director, AIIMS, Raebareli.All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raebareli was established as autonomous institution and institute of National importance through the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, passed in 2013.

Admission Criteria

MBBS Admission

AIIMS Raebareli offers the MBBS program at the Undergraduate level for 5.5 years. The institute offers 100 seats for admission to MBBS. For admission to MBBS at AIIMS Raebareli, the aspirants must appear for the NEET UG Exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The final selection of the candidates will be done through the NEET Counselling conducted by MCC.

MBBS Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for MBBS admission at AIIMS Raebareli, candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

• Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate in the 10+2 level of education with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognised board.
  
• Candidates must be Indian citizens and should be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2024.
  
• Candidates in their final year who are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
  
• Students from SC/ST categories will be given a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks in the qualifying examination.

B.Sc Nursing Admission

AIIMS Raebareli offers B.Sc (Hons) Nursing for 4 Years. Admission to B.Sc (Hons) Nursing at AIIMS Raebareli is based on the score obtained by the candidates in the AIIMS B.Sc Nursing Entrance Exam.

MD/MS Admission

At the PG level, AIIMS Raebareli offers MD/MS programmes which are of a 3-year duration. The course is offered under various specialisations, namely Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology & Lab Medicine, Microbiology and Pharmacology.
