Admission Procedure

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore Courses are offered at UG, PG, Doctorate level. There are 132 courses offered at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore. Admission Criteria

B.Tech Admission 2025

Amrita University offers B.Tech program in 16 specializations in full-time mode. Admission is offered on the basis of a valid score in the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE) followed by a centralized counselling process (CSAP) for the allotment of seats. The university also considers JEE Main scores for BTech admissions. 70% seats are allotted to AEEE candidates and the rest 30% are given to JEE Main candidates. The minimum eligibility for B.Tech is 10+2 with minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects and minimum 55% marks in the individual subject.

Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE)

AEEE is a 2 ½ hours paper with 100 MCQs. Each correct answer will fetch three marks while an incorrect response will lead to the deduction of one mark from the total score.

MBA Admission 2025

Amrita University offers MBA courses in 7 specializations at the PG level. The total fee for MBA program is INR 12 Lakhs. Minimum eligibility for MBA is a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university. Candidates are selected on the basis of Amrita Common Aptitude Test (ACAT)/ KMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ GRE/ GMAT/ CMAT scores followed by GD/PI.

UG & PG Admission 2025

• Amrita University offers admission to various UG & PG courses such as BA, BSc (H), BSW (H), BArch, BA/BBALLB, MTech, Integrated MSc, MSc, and MSW.
  
• Admission to BA/BBALLB courses are based on CLAT/ AILET/ Amrita Law Admission Test (AMLAT) scores.
  
• Admission to BA (Mass Communication) is offered on the basis of CAP Test scores, or Communication Aptitude Test conducted by the Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM). Candidates with more than 70% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination are exempted from CAP TEST but have to appear for Interview.

Ph.D. Admission 2025

At the research level, Amrita University offers Ph.D. in full-time and part-time medium. The minimum eligibility for Ph.D. is Master’s degree in relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks.

In order to seek admission, eligible candidates will have to go through a written test and personal interview conducted by the university. For Ph.D. part-time, candidates are selected on the basis of written test and an interview followed by an evaluation of past academic record.

Placement

Amrita University's placement statistics for the year 2025 have not been released yet. However, the 2024 official data shows a 100% placement rate for the MBA program. The highest package offered was INR 24.84 LPA, and the average package recorded was INR 8.5 LPA. The highest package offered to BTech graduates at Amrita University was INR 56 LPA to date. While the average salary packages range between INR 5 LPA to INR 12 LPA across specializations.Top recruiters at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham include Amazon, Wipro, Dell, Samsung, Tech Mahindra, TCS, INFOSYS, ADANI, to name a few.According to the NIRF Report 2025, the median package for UG (4-Year Program) was INR 7.75 LPA. For PG (2-year Program), the median package offered was INR 6.28 LPA for in the year 2024.

Scholarships 

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham scholarships are offered to students according to their marks and admission interview performance.

1. Amrita Chancellor Scholarship 100% tuition waiver 80% and above
2. Amrita Meritorious Scholarship 50% tuition waiver 70-79%

The above scholarships are applicable for UG, PG, PhD programs.
The above scholarships are not applicable for programs in the field of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences.

There are some key points to remember regarding Amrita Scholarships:

• Scholarships are given for one academic year and can be renewed yearly based on performance and conduct.
  
• The scholarship offers a tuition fee waiver, not applicable to other fees or refundable in cash.
  
• A student can hold only one scholarship at a time, regardless of type or amount.
  
• Scholarships are continued depending on meeting academic, attendance, and behavior standards set by the Scholarship Committee.
  
• Students must maintain a CGPA of 7.0 or above each semester to retain the scholarship.
  
• A minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear for exams and continue the scholarship.
  
• Any misconduct or disciplinary action can lead to immediate scholarship cancellation.
  
• Scholarships depend on valid academic documents; any discrepancies will result in withdrawal.
  
• Students with foreign qualifications must submit an AIU equivalence certificate; failure to do so may cancel the scholarship.
  

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore

Amrita University has a 400-acre campus that features academic blocks, administration buildings, a main library, hostels, staff quarter campuses, a guest house, a shopping complex, swimming pool, and sports fields. The built-up space is approximately 28 lakh square feet with around 7 km of internal roadways connecting them. There are eight hostels accommodating around 5,000 students. The campus swimming pool is built to Olympic standards and is utilized by the students and the staff members. Two power houses with 1660 KVA combined capacity provide relief from power cuts. The campus has uninterrupted power and water supply.

Central Library of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham covers 81,000 sq. ft., with 58,000+ volumes of books, e-sources, journals, and project reports. It comprises a digital library for 170 users, the VIDYA Digital Library with 4TB of information, and an online portal with international academic sources accessible with the help of trained librarians.

Amrita School of Engineering Coimbatore offers good computer facilities handled by the ICTS Department. There are 13 computer labs with more than 2000 computers and high-speed internet. There are also special labs for subjects like CAD/CAM and VLSI. There is facility of Wi-Fi and latest software and IT support for academic and research activities.
