Admission Process 

Admission to Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology (ACET), now known as Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC), begins with online registration through the AGC admission portal. For B.Tech programmes, eligible candidates can apply through AGC-NEST, the college's entrance-cum-scholarship test, which can offer scholarships of up to ₹1.5 lakh. Candidates are required to complete the application, appear for the applicable admission/entrance process, and proceed with document verification and fee payment after selection. For B.Tech Lateral Entry (LEET), eligible three-year diploma holders can seek admission directly to the third semester, with selection based on diploma marks and no separate entrance examination as per the published admission guidelines.

Admission Process

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) or an equivalent qualification.
•  Candidates need to register online through the AGC admission/registration portal.
• For the regular B.Tech programmes, AGC's published admission guidelines state that admission is based on the AGC-NEST (National Entrance Scholarship Test).
•  Candidates can earn a scholarship of up to ₹1.5 lakh, depending on their performance/eligibility under the applicable scholarship scheme.
• Eligible candidates proceed through the admission process based on the applicable AGC/IKGPTU rules.
•  Selected candidates must submit the required academic and supporting documents for verification.
• After verification and seat confirmation, the prescribed course fee must be paid.
•  Admission is confirmed after successful verification and completion of the required fee-payment formalities.

Government Scholarships

Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology (ACET), now Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC), supports eligible students in accessing various Government Scholarship Schemes. Post-Matric Scholarship

SC and ST Scholarship

SC Scholarship: Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology (ACET), now Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC), supports eligible Scheduled Caste (SC) students through government scholarship schemes. The college's official records confirm participation in the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students under the Government of Punjab.

ST Scholarship: AGC has an SC/ST/OBC & Minorities Cell that provides guidance and support to eligible students regarding their welfare and scholarship-related matters. Engineering students have received placement opportunities from companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Intel, Amazon, Bosch, Ford, Nagarro, Sopra Steria and Cognizant. AGC's placement records also show engineering students selected by TCS, GVK Power, Khanna Paper Mills and R Systems.

For specific engineering courses, the college reports placements such as B.Tech CSE students at Airbus and TCS, while B.Tech Electrical Engineering students have been placed with organisations including TCS and Khanna Paper Mills.

The boys' hostel, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Hostel, has around 108 rooms, while the Kalpana Chawla Hostel for girls has around 54 rooms. The hostels provide Wi-Fi, attached washrooms, gymnasium and recreational/social interaction facilities, with air-conditioned rooms also available.
