Anjalai Ammal-Mahalingam Engineering College (AAMEC) is a private institution located in Kovilvenni near Needamangalam, Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1995, offering higher education in Engineering and Management.   AAMEC fulfils its illustrious Founder and veteran railway union leader Shri. M. Namasivayam's scintillating dream and ennobling vision to establish a temple of learning, far from the maddening crowd of the cities and yet having all the facilities of a well developed urban campus, imparting technical education at international standards, accessible to students from far and near, rich and poor alike.   The college is ideally located, flanked by the National Highways and Railway lines. Institution was named after the late parents of Founder Chairman (i.e.) Anjalai Ammal-Mahalingam Engineering College and started functioning from the academic year 1995-1996 with the sole motto “Character Health and Education”.

The Founder-Chairman, with a long-time prospective vision, identified a serene and calm atmosphere near his native place and established an Engineering College at Koyilvenni on the Thanjavur-Nagapattinam National Highway (NH67) to cater to the socially and economically backward classes especially for rural folk.  The founder desired and directed that AAMEC should be a trend setter in technical education.  Apart from establishing the Technical Institution, he has also founded “Balamurugan Charitable Trust” in memory of his son and the trust is rendering financial aid to the poor and downtrodden society and also involving in Social activities.

The College is located in a sprawling campus of about 65 acres of land at the historic site of Kovilvenni, within the limits of Thiruvarur district at a distance of just 25 kilometers from Thanjavur towards Nagapattinam. AAMEC is well served by both road & rail. The Thanjavur – Nagapattinam National Highway(NH 67) runs in front of the college and buses on this road are quite frequent.  Kovilvenni railway station is located literally at the backyard (back entrance) of the college campus.

Anjalai Ammal-Mahalingam Engineering College was affiliated with Anna University Trichy. The college was approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).  AAMEC has the prestige of being one of the very few accredited institutions in Tamil Nadu. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE-New Delhi has accredited the  UG courses.  AAMEC is accredited ‘B’ grade by NAAC.  It has a faculty strength of over 100 with around 15 PhD holders.

Anjalai Ammal-Mahalingam Engineering College primarily offers of UG and PG courses in engineering and computer application like MCA, B.E. / B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech in the specialized fields of IT & Software and Engineering. Students can choose stream and specialization of their choice.   BTech admission requires students to complete 10+2 (PCM subjects) with 50% aggregate score. TNEA scorecard is also used to determine final selection of the students.  For MCA admission, students must have done graduation and should have studied mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 or graduation level. Selection is done based on TANCET scorecard.

Anjalai Ammal Mahalingam Engineering College located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. It is a private institute affiliated to Anna University. AAMEC has been approved by the AICTE and accredited by the NBA. The institute has a faculty strength of 105, including 13 PhD holders.

AAMEC offers eight specializations across two courses: B.Tech and MCA. For admission to B.Tech, a candidate needs to score 50% marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together in 10+2; for selection, they have to go for TNEA counselling.

Candidates interested in pursuing MCA should have a bachelor’s degree; in addition, they must have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level or as an ancillary in college. For selection, they have to take the TANCET.

The institute has a decent placement record. The highest package that has been offered here is 1.2 million INR per year. Companies that visit the campus include Infoview, Tata, L&T, and so on.
Candidates who are eligible for admission to the B.Tech course have to undergo TNEA counselling. The registration process for it is described underneath:

Visit the Anna University website and fill out the registration form for TNEA.
A fee will be charged, which has to be paid online.
Fill out the application with care. Incorrect or incomplete data will result in the candidate’s application being rejected.
Take out a printout of the application form and send a copy to the Director of Admissions of Anna University.
After the merit list is declared, candidates have to download the counselling call letter and visit the counselling venue with the necessary documents and a demand draft of 5,000 INR.
After all processes are completed, an allotment order will be handed to the applicant. At this stage, the counselling fee has to be paid.
The candidate has to report to their college and submit the allotment order to confirm their admission.
