Annai Therasa Arts and Science College is a co-educational College started in the year 1997. It is managed by The Trust, Thirukazhukundram Educational Research and Training Centre. This college is approved by the Government of Tamilnadu (G.O.M.S.No.389/1997) and affiliated to the University of Madras (A1/GJ/97-3067).

This Co-Educational College was started with the intention of providing higher education to the rural population which is otherwise handicapped by the “distance “ factor, economic problems and other practical difficulties. The College brings higher education to the door steps of the rural population. It is committed to keep up and maintain the quality of higher education so that the students will come out as citizens of eminence and excellence to serve the society and the nation. It is an unaided self financing college. It offers Job-oriented courses of study like Computer Science, Biochemistry, Business Administration, Commerce etc.,

Annai Therasa Arts and Science College (Co-Education) is located in a spacious campus covering about 12 acres of land at Mangalam Village on the outskirts of Thirukazhukundram town right on the highway leading to Kalpakkam and Sadras.

The Institution has 23 successful years of experience in the field of education with a vision “To make up wholesome development in every individual, to become a better human being thus contributing service towards self, family and society through education to face the challenges of the world”. The college imparts holistic education and prepares the village students to compete the modern competitive world. The institution offers 7 UG & 2 PG courses which are affiliated to the University of Madras. The total student strength is 780.

The College has been consistently producing University ranks every year right from its inception. The batch 2016 – 2019 has achieved an appreciable overall percentage of 67 and 10 students secured top 20 University Ranks in various subjects.

Amenities with regards to the academic activities of the college including Library, laboratory infrastructure, play grounds, Canteen etc., have been sufficiently provided. Hostel facilities are available for the men students of our college. It will be extended to the women student also on demand.

The Institution also provide an opportunity to the students to develop their employability skill through the NGO trainer (NSDC authorized franchise) at free cost. Our placement cell did an excellent work for the students’ life sustainability by placing more than 40% of the students and they were received their offer letter from well reputed companies from Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore and Chengalpet.

Admission Procedure

Candidate with a pass in the Higher Secondary Examination (+2) conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu or its equivalent as fixed by the University of Madras are eligible to join the degree courses.

Minimum age 17 as on July and upper age limit is 21 year (5 years relaxed for SC/ST and Women Students). Candidates who have passed the Examination other than Higher Secondary Examination of Tamilnadu state should produce the Provisonal eligibility certificate obtained from the University of Madras before the admission.

Director of Collegiate Education and University of Madras admission eligibility rules should be followed for choosing of candidates.

Admission will be made through the College Committee for admission based on the Government of reservation policies, rules and regulations. Spot admission will be made for vacancy seats in first come first served basis.

Mode of Admission: Candidate when called for Interview must produce the following original certificates.

i               H.S.C Mark Statements

ii              Transfer Certificate

iii             Community certificate from a competent authority in case of BC/MBC/DCN/SC/ST only

iv             Students from other state should produce the following certificate

i               Provisional Eligibility obtained from University of Madras (before Admission)

ii              Recognization Certificate from University of Madras (before Admission)

v              Aadhar Card & Address Proof

vi             Bank Account detail for SC/ST only. To remit the scholarship.

vii            All relevant document should be submitted at the time of admission

The Certificate will be retained in the college office and will not be returned under any circumstance till the student leaves the institution. Therefore the students are advised to take sufficient photo copies of all the certificate before submitting the originals to the college.

Admission will be confirmed only after the interview and completepayment of admission and tuition fee.

Selected candidates should pay the fees immediately after the interview. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

Admission of the students to any course will be provisional and will be subject to the approval of the University of Madras. Students must satisfy themselves that they are eligible for admission. After admission if they are found not eligible the college cannot be held responsible for it. They will lose their seats and also the fees paid.

Placement :

The Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates.

Mission

Placement cell serves as the linking point between the collegian of our College with prospective employers by enabling students to realize their dream jobs before they leave the campus. The placement cell of the college helps to sharpen the skills of the students to make them role ready by the time of graduation by organizing placement training with regard to Communication skills, Career Guidance, mock interviews, group discussions, aptitude and technical skills required to meet the changing needs of the employments.

PLACEMENT PROCESS

Campus placement, also known as campus recruitment, occurs when companies visit our colleges' campuses, conduct interviews, and hire candidates to work for them. Our college organises these campus placements and invites all of the best companies to recruit from their students. These placements benefit not only the students, but also the companies and colleges.

Objectives of the Campus Placement

The main goal of the campus placement activity is to find students jobs immediately after they complete their education. Because the campus placement occurs before the final exam, students have an added incentive to perform well on the final exam. Students are also under less stress. Good placements also allow colleges to claim 100 percent placement, which is an excellent form of advertising for the institution. Companies have the opportunity to hire talented individuals who will contribute significantly to their company's success.

Government scholarships are available annually to eligible students belonging to SC/ST.

They are tenable for the period of the entire course on condition that their character, conduct and academic records continue to be satisfactory.

Disbursement of the scholarship amount will be made only to those students who have a record of 90% attendance as per the government order.

Student who are applying for the scholarship should meet the concern committee coordinator to collect the details.

Student who are discontinue their courses should have to refund the entire scholarship amount before applying for Transfer certificate.
