Established in 1969 as a private medical college, it was later taken over by the Government of Bihar in 1978, transforming it into a public institution.Originally named Magadh Medical College, it was renamed in 1984 after Anugrah Narayan Jee, the first Finance Minister of Bihar and a prominent freedom fighter, fondly known as “Bihar Vibhuti.”The college was founded to bridge the healthcare gap between Patna and Ranchi, as no major public hospital existed in central Bihar at the time. Admission Criteria

MBBS Admission 

ANMMCH offers MBBS as its flagship course at the undergraduate level for 5 Years, including 1 year of internship. ANMMCH MBBS Admission is based on the score in NEET UG. ANMMCH offers a total of 120 Seats for admission to MBBS.

MBBS Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidate must pass 10+2 with Chemistry, Physics, and Biology from a recognised board.
  
• Must have at least 50% Marks in Aggregate in 10+2.

• Admission to MBBS at ANMMCH is strictly based on NEET UG.

Scholarship

Scholorship are awarded from the State Welfare Department and minority commission for the Backward & minority students respectively.The Bihar government provides a student credit card loan scheme offering up to 4 lakh INR with no interest, to be repaid after securing a job. Scholarships of 15,000 to 20,000 INR per year are available under various schemes like Saat Nischay Yojana, for students from OBC, SC, or ST categories with a family income of less than 1 lakh INR, granting 25,000 INR annually. The National Scholarships Portal (NSP) also offers scholarships based on eligibility.

The college provides bonafide certificates to facilitate bank loans. Tuition fees for the entire course are approximately 27,000 INR over 4.5 years, with additional costs for hostel and activities. Stipends for internships are 15,000 INR monthly, and for post-graduation, they range from 90,000 to 100,000 INR per year. Hostel fees are approximately 12,000 INR annually, with a safety deposit of 10,000 INR.

Placement

The college offers a compulsory one-year internship after completing the MBBS degree, with a stipend ranging from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month, depending on the state of the college. The library is air-conditioned and it has adequate reading rooms for undergraduate and postgraduate students where they can study. It has a large number of books and journals. The ANMMCH is situated at Gaya city in south Bihar. At that time there were only two medical colleges and hospital in Bihar: One in Patna, the northern part of Bihar another in Ranchi (now in Jharkhand) the southern part of Bihar.Presently, it is working with 18 departments with well qualified doctors, hard working supporting staffs, dedicated nurses and well equipped machines serving the purpose of nursing the people who are in need of treatments. This Institute is a government medical institution run by the Bihar government and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Hostel

The college offers both boys' and girls' hostel accommodations with 6 boys' hostels and 5 girls' hostels. The hostels provide 24-hour light and water facilities, and rooms are well-ventilated, furnished, and available in single, double, and triple occupancy. The compound is large and clean, with indoor games, a mess facility providing breakfast and dinner, and a ground for cricket and football with night match lighting. Hostels are located conveniently near the hospital, lecture theatre, and library.

Security is maintained by two guards, and cleanliness is regularly ensured. Each batch has separate hostels, with juniors generally sharing double rooms and seniors having single rooms. The rent is 1000 per month, with a fixed electricity bill of about 2000. There are no new hostels under construction, and 1st and 2nd-year students typically do not receive hostel facilities until later years. Some hostels, like PG and NGH for girls, are recently constructed with better infrastructure, while others are older and require maintenance.The hostel food is considered normal, and there is no generator facility, but power cuts are infrequent. Voltage fluctuations occur, especially in summers. Gyms are expected to open shortly, and the hostels include amenities like badminton courts.
