The College was established in 2009 and promoted by Thottam Madhavan Educational and Charitable Trust. Dr T Krishnaswamy, M.E, Ph.D is the Chairman, Er. K S Dharun Surath, M.E and Dr. N Meena Zenith, B.Com, MBA, Ph.D are the Directors. The objective to establish the College was to provide opportunities for young women to strengthen their knowledge and develop the skills necessary for lifelong learning in the contemporary technological global community and enabling them to become global women leaders.

Arunachala College of Engineering for Women is located at Thanka Gardens, Manavilai, Vellichanthai, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu on part of an enormous 350 Acres Campus.The College campus is located near the famous Vellimalai Temple, in a calm and green cover residential area with an atmosphere of 'God's own Kerala', surrounded by Hindus, Christians and Muslims. Our college library is a repository of more than 8500 volumes of books and every year 1500 volumes of books are being added. Besides, DEL Net E-Journal / E-Book facility is provided in the library. This facility paves a way to access 200 journals through mail that serves as a part of curriculum. The library has a comprehensive and inexhaustible collection of reference materials in addition to the subscriptions of dailies, periodicals, and journals of national and international repute. A separate library which includes all facilities will be constructed very soon. E-learning Facility is provided in the Central Library.Our college has a well furnished cafeteria with delicious food and snacks for the students to enjoy their lunch and snacks time. The store in our college premises has all the stationary materials and other things for the hostel and the days scholar students.

Hostel

Fully guarded well furnished ladies hostel named 'Seetha Lakshmi Hostel' with all its amenities is available in the campus. The hostel buildings sport contemporary style, combining maximum utility as well as safety. It also ensures proper ventilation and sunlight. The spacious dining hall, in the hostel, serves wholesome, nutritious food. Experienced cooks prepare food in modern, hygienic kitchen and the special attention is on providing salubrious food.

Supply of Vegetarian & Non-Vegetarian Food and 24 Hrs. purified drinking water is provided in the hostel. Uninterrupted power supply is provided in the hostel. A mess committee consisting of student representatives takes care of the hostel menu. Wardens with motherly care satisfy the needs of students. However strict discipline is maintained in the hostel.

The study hour and silence hour are strictly followed. Use of mobile phones is strictly banned. Instead the coin box, provided in the hostel office, can be used by the hostel residents. The hostel residents are allowed to go home only with proper intimation from their parents. Our hostel provides feel at home atmosphere for our students.

Transport

• Within Kanyakumari District: The college runs its own bus service covering all major local routes throughout KanyaKumari district 

• From Thiruvananthapuram District: Daily bus service from Trivandrum via Balaramapuram, Neyyattinkara, and Parassala 

• From Tirunelveli District: Bus service available from Vellarada and Poovar areas.
