Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for women, Coimbatore was established as an aided college by the great patriot and educationist Padma Bhushan Dr.T.S.Avinashilingam under the auspices of the Avinashilingam Education Trust in1957 with 45 women students. Dr.Rajammal P.Devadas, doyen of Home Science nurtured the institution of what it is today.

The saga of excellence and legacy created by the visionaries have been carefully nurtured and carried forward by a team of devoted functionaries. Presently, Dr.T.S.K.Meenakshisundaram, Managing Trustee, Sri Avinashilingam Education Trust, Dr.T.S.K.Meenakshisundaram, Chancellor, Dr.V.Bharathi Harishankar Vice Chancellor and Dr.S.Kowsalya, Registrar are carrying forward the transformative vision to place the institution as its zenith.

Avinashilingam university Courses are offered at UG, PG, Doctorate level. There are 155 courses offered at Avinashilingam university. Admission Criteria

MBA Admission 2025

Avinashilingam University offers admission to MBA courses under aided and self-financed categories. General MBA is offered under both categories. MBA in Information Technology and MBA in Tourism Management are offered under the self-financed category only.

Candidates seeking admission to MBA courses must have a Graduation degree in any discipline with 50% marks. The candidates will be selected based on the valid scores in MAT / CMAT / CAT / XAT / TANCET / ATMA entrance exams, followed by a Group Discussion & Interview for admission to MBA courses in the aided category. For admission to MBA courses in the self-financed category, candidates will be selected based on the university’s entrance exam.

For B.E the applicant must have completed the 12th grade with Physics and Mathematics in the compulsory subject list along with Chemistry or Biotechnology Biology with a minimum of. 45 marks aggregate.

PhD Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to PhD courses must have a PG M.Phil degree in the relevant field/discipline with 55% marks. The selection will be based on the merit of the qualifying examination.

Apply Procedure

• For B.E. Lateral Entry to be eligible, the applicant must possess a degree that has been recognized by AICTE with a minimum of. 45 percent marks
• To be eligible for M.E. candidates, they must hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum of. 50% marks.
• The selections for B.E or B.E. lateral entry are made by analyzing the AAEEE score.
• The selections for all the courses under M.E. will be made on a merit-based basis, followed by an entrance exam consisting of GATE/TANCET, and a personal interview.
• The minimum. requirement for bachelor degrees is the 12th grade in the relevant stream.
• The selection will be made by a merit-based selection for the marks obtained in Class 12th.
• The minimum. qualification required for M.B.A is a bachelor's degree in any field.
• The minimum. requirement for Master's programs is an undergraduate degree in the field of study.
• The selection criteria for M.B.A is the score obtained by the candidate in the qualifying exam (XAT/CAT/MAT/TANCET/ATMAT/GMAT) and the marks in the personal interview.
• The selection process for all other Master's programs is based on a merit .
• The minimum. requirement for M.Phil. or Ph.D. is that the applicants must hold a Master's degree in the discipline they are interested in with a minimum. 55%.
• The selection for M.Phil as well as Ph.D. are on merit on merit.

2.Backward Class Scholarships to students whose parent's income is below Rs.2,00,000/- per annum.
