AWH Engineering College (AWHEC), established in 2001, is a self-financing engineering college managed by Association for Welfare of Handicapped (AWH), Kozhikode, Kerala. It is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). AWH Engineering College is a co-educational institution established with the sole purpose of honouring engineers of excellent qualities.

Training and Placement Cell
AWH Engineering College has an independent placement office focused to cater to the needs of leading organizations in conducting campus interviews for the final year students of AWH Engineering College. It is headed by a senior professor with additional charge and supported by placement coordinators from all departments.

The placement office functions with facilities for PPT, written test, group discussions and interviews. It plays a key role in career counseling and guiding of students of AWH Engineering College for their successful career placement.This includes advising the students on placement procedures, directing them on resume preparation,giving training in group discussions, interviews and written tests. This office also coordinates the various activities related to institute-industry interaction.
Right from the inception of the B.Tech course, the students are given an opportunity to think and grow globally. They are educated on soft skills and life skills. The training and placement cell conducts programs which help the students to become more professional and highly competent in their performance.

The College has a tie-up with Infosys called ‘Campus Connect’ for which a memorandum has been signed between Infosys and the Principal of AWH Engineering College . Through this active interaction between AWH students, staff and faculty and Infosys are envisaged.
Pooled recruitment drive is conducted every year in the month of February. Usually around ten to fifteen companies participate in the recruitment drive. Many companies also conduct separate campus recruitment every year.

Campus Placement Procedure
Pre-final year students are asked to register in the placement cell
Resumes are collected and formatted to the requirements of the MNCs
The list of students who meet the eligibility criteria are sent to the responding companies upon request.
Companies/Organizations are invited to the college.
Placement officers and coordinators meet to coordinate placement activities.
Company assigns a convenient date to visit the campus
Pre-placement talk is arranged for the students appearing for the drive by the placement cell
Company officials conduct the recruitment and selection and publish the list of selected student
Company sends the offer letters in due course, along with their training package

• Full A+ in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics– Fee per year Rs:15000 (35000 as scholarship)
• Full A in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics– Fee per year Rs:20000 (30000 as scholarship)
• Above 90% in +2– 20% of the total fee as scholarship
• Above 80% in +2– 10% of the total fee as scholarship

Hostel

The College provides Hostels facility in the campus itself. Hostel is provided with mess, communication and recreation facilities.

Computing Facilites

We have a well designed, state-of-the-art central computing centre. The facilities are arranged in such a way that students will be able to work comfortably for long hours. The total facilities available for students in terms of hardware comprise 500 systems with LCD monitors and printers. A wide collection of computer literature enables students to sharpen their skills in client server development environments.

The centres are enriched with exclusive software. Uninterrupted power supply is provided in these centres. All the departments and laboratories in the campus are connected through a network.

Library

Library & Information Centre (LIC) is an outstanding learning resource centre catering to the ever growing and uncompromising information and intellectual requirements of the students and faculty members. The collection of the library includes books, journals, reports, standards and patents in the field of Science and Technology. The LIC has acquired several thousands of books, national and international print journals, & CD ROMs etc…The E-LEARNING CENTRE (ELC) subscribes to over 5000 electronic resources along with 200 full-text journals accessible due to INDEST subscription. ELC provides access to DELNET also.

The library offers services such as reference service, user guidance service, circulation service including inter library loan and document delivery service, email alert service, bibliographic service, reprographic service, higher education data bank, Journals and magazines, News paper, Access to e-resources etc. Current awareness service is also provided. Alumni book bank started functioning in 2007 with the financial support of AWHEC Alumni Association.The main Library is functioning from 8am to 6pm on every working day. The Automated Library of AWH Engineering College has an excellent collection of books and magazines on engineering science and related topics. Around 27000 volumes of technical books and several national and international journals are provided to widen the perspective of the students of the college. The collection comprises printed books, CD-ROMs, Audio and video cassettes. The book-bank scheme is functioning very well. The on– line access to DELNET databases provided to cover information in all disciplines.
