Bagalkot University (BGKU) is a state public university established by the Government of Karnataka under the Karnataka State Universities (Amendment) Act 2022 (Act No. 2022 of 26, published in the Gazette Extraordinary on 10/10/2022). It is a university having jurisdiction over all general degree and colleges of education in Bagalkot district.

The university is headquartered in Jamkhandi, Jamkhandi is an important place in North Karnataka with historical background. The university conducts postgraduate classes in various departments of its campus. The university is established as a fully digital and entrepreneurial (skill based) model university in an educationally backward area and emphasizes on the concept of “learning with work”.

The University is ascertaining the regional needs and planning to introduce technical courses, skill based courses to uplift the rural students and contribute to the development of the students of Bagalkot district and nearby areas.

Candidates must have completed a 10+2 Science programme that included Biology / Commerce as one of the required subjects. A minimum of 55% in any science stream is required, with Biology as a required subject. Candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 50% in class 12.

Placement service operates throughout the year to facilitate connection between companies/organizations and students. This includes providing guidance on employment processes and assisting students in preparing their applications and resumes or curriculum vitae. The goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct a successful job search.

Objectives of Placement Cell:

We have applied for NSP ( National scholarship portal ) in which we get amount varies from Rs.5000 to Rs. 20000 according to the category.(OBC,SC,ST etc). At least 50% of students have got their scholarship and rest student's scholarship is still pending.

Hostel Facilities: The hostel facility of UHS is really awesome, as nearby hostel it has green lawn and chairs in the middle of green to study. UHS has 3 boys and 2 girl hostel and the fees are Rs, 3000 per month. Meals are delicious and it costs is Rs50.

Campus Life: UHS provide the additional facilities such as boy hostel, library, canteen, classroom, medical room etc. The students are endowed with all convenient facilities that makes their life easy in college hours,. Some of them are hostel facility, indoor games room, Wi-Fi connectivity recreational areas etc institute which seeks to place each of its students in a company.
