Bankura University (commonly known as BU) is a public state university located in the city of Bankura. Established in 2014 under the West Bengal Act XIX of 2013, the university was founded by the Government of West Bengal with the aim of expanding access to higher education in the region. The university’s primary goal is to promote academic excellence, research, and holistic development while contributing to societal growth and nation-building through quality education.
