Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET), situated in Davangere, is a Private Un-Aided college associated with the Conglomerate (BEA) - Bapuji Educational Association (1958) which is one of the oldest and most prestigious Educational Associations in Karnataka. Established in 1979, BIET is one of the top ten self-financing Engineering Institutions in the State, providing excellent quality education to bring out high professional Engineers and Technocrats.

 
The BIET campus is spread over a sprawling 63 acres of land in a lush green environment dotted with modern buildings having the state-of-the-art architecture. The institute located on Shamanur Road, Davangere, Karnataka provides an ideal ambiance for teaching-learning process, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to achieve excellence in technical education, research, and promotion of entrepreneurship.

 
The Institute is Affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgavi and Recognized by UGC under 2(F) and 12(B).  It is Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi and NAAC 2023 peer committee has yielded with 'A' grade.

 
Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology offers 21 courses across 3 streams namely Engineering, Management and IT.  The Courses offered include BE (in 13 disciplines), MTech (Structural Engg), MBA, MCA and PhD programs.  The admissions to this Institute are purely based on Merit based on the KCET scores.

Admission 

Bachelor of Engineering (BE)Eligibility Criteria

A pass in II PUC/Intermediate/10+2 or any other equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology/Electronics as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the optional subjects (40% of marks for SC.ST.CAT-1 and OBC category).

Master of Business Administration (MBA)Eligibility Criteria

The Candidate should Pass a Bachelor's Degree of a minimum 3 Year duration. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

Master of Technology (M.Tech)Eligibility Criteria

Admission is open to all candidates who have passed B.E./B. Tech examinations (in relevant field) of VTU or any other University recognized by this University or any other examinations recognized by this University as equivalent with not less than 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST ) of the marks in the aggregate in the examinations of the semester considered for the declaration of the class.

Campus placement it starts from the 6th sem of the 3rd year many companies will come and hire the students but to attend the campus students should meet the criteria of 6.75 cgpa. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, DXC, and many more companies will come. Some companies provide average packages like 3L to 4L per annum and some provide maximum packages like 7L to 8L per annum. Every year up to 60% of students get placed in campus placement with a good amount of packages. After completing my degree I joined the snipe company as a frontend developer.

1. Dr.Shamanur Shivashankarappa Trust–Poor and Merit Scholarship.

2. Dr S Manjappa HOD of Chemistry Department of our Institute has deposited the amount of Rs 200000.00 The scholarship will be given to the poor students on the basis of merit only out of the Interest every year.

Boys Hostel

The Hostel is founded in 1984 to accommodate the boys, who come from different parts of the world. The hostel now has three blocks accommodating about 510 boarders. The rooms are well furnished and the surroundings of hostel is very green and pleasant, which encourages the students to study during late nights. The students who stayed in the hostel have secured 18 university ranks right from the inception of the hostel. The hostel is having two dinning halls of North & South Indian to cater the needs of the boarders for their taste.

Hostel is known for its discipline and well managed by dedicated faculty & staff members The Hostel area is spacious as much as 4.5 acres., built up area it self being 12,877.09 Sq. feet

Girls Hostel

The Hostel was started in 2008 to accommodate BIET girl students, who come from different parts of the world. The hostel now has one block with 4 Floors, accommodating about 320 boarders. The rooms are well furnished and the surroundings of hostel is very green and pleasant, which encourages the students to study. The hostel is having two dining halls to cater to the needs of the boarders for their varied taste. Hostel is known for its discipline and well managed by dedicated faculty & staff members. The hostel is spacious with a built up area of 5029 Sq. Mts. with 104 Rooms accommodating 320 students.

The Chairman of “AMRUTHA”, Dr.S.S.D.J Ladies Hostel is Dr Prabha Mallikarjun, Member ,BEA,Dvg. The warden of the hostel is Dr S M Chandushaker. Dr Vinutha H P and Prof Nirmala G are working as deputy-wardens of the hostel. The hostel is well managed by a team of experienced office staff.

North Indian & south Indian dishes are prepared in the hostel mess. The hostel mess is managed by the hostel administration itself. Ragging is totally prohibited in the hostel. As an entertainment and refreshment hostel has indoor shuttle court, and an indoor sports hall which is used for table tennis, chess, carom board and other indoor games. Common TV hall is facilitated to watch some important program in the limited hours.

Stationery shop facility is provided in the hostel premises. A walking track is also laid all around the hostel. All the national festivals are celebrated in the hostel. The hostel is surrounded by a landscaped garden.

The boarders actively participate in the functions such as freshers’day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Holi, Diwali and fare well function which are held in the hostel every year.

The college canteen is designed to cater to 1000 students & staff. The college canteen is a place where students congregate to not only eat but exchange views.

Our canteen has a modern kitchen where food is steam cooked. The washed dishes are sterilized for hygienic serving. On campus in Canteen we also have a Bakery shop.
