Bhaarat Medical College & Hospital, Chennai is a newly established, full-fledged tertiary Medical college in Tamil Nadu. The College is popularly known as BMCH Chennai. It was established in 2020, affiliated with the Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research (BIHER) (Deemed Univ.), Chennai. BIHER was established by Mr. S. Jagathrakshakan under the aegis of Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust (1984) with the aim of imparting higher knowledge in Science and Technology to the aspiring boys and girls, so that they can emerge as competent scientists, engineers, technologists, and healthcare specialist of repute. The Trust has appointed Prof. K. Vijaya Bhaskar Raju as the Vice - Chancellor of the college.
The college is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It is one of the leading Deemed Medical Colleges under Bharath University TamilNadu. The BIHER Educational Groups are spread over 603 acres of 6 campuses in different places of TamilNadu & Puducherry States and it is filled with greenery and landscaped gardens that have been providing a congenial learning experience to the students.
Bhaarath Medical College and Hospital is a premier institute for B.Sc. (Allied Health), PG Dip and MBBS courses. Candidate can pursue in multiple range of courses like B.Sc., MBBS with the stream of Medicine & Health Sciences. Over the period, Bhaarath Medical College and Hospital has gained expertize through its trained and experienced faculty in the fields of Anaesthesia Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Respiratory Care Technology, Dialysis Technology, Radiology & Imaging Science, Optometry, Medical Record Technology, Clinical Research, Clinical Nurition Foods & Sciences, Blood Bank Technology. However, due to its very recent inception, the college does not provide courses under specialisation and super specialisation as yet. The Institute offers courses that are approved by NMC. College offered courses with intake of 150 candidates annually. The Courses offered by the Institute are in the fee range of INR 40,500-600,000.

The selection for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree requires a student to qualify for the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised university in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology along with merits secured in the National Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency, New Delhi and should have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination as per National Medical Commission/Medical Council of India norms. Admission for the MBBS course is made according to the counselling system. For admissions in the Allied Health Science courses, a student must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examination from a recognised board in Physics, Chemistry, biology or biotechnology along with English.
