About Bharathi Women's College, Chennai
Bharathi Women’s College has entered into the 55th year of glorious educational service and was founded in 1964. This college was recognized by the UGC under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act of 1956. This college was renamed Bharathi Women's College in honour of the famed Tamil poet Subramanian Bharathi's 100th birthday in 1981–1982. More than 4000 students attend the institution today, and there are over 150 faculty members working in 13 different departments. GWC Chennai placements are given to students who are given career advancement opportunities and complete their academic programmes. The college is situated on an 8-acre campus, nestled in the bustling George Town district of Chennai. This institution provides curricula, sports, and other activities to meet the requirements of the economically and socially underprivileged groups in the community, notably the first generation of female learners.
