Sri Sakthi Educational Trust (SSET) was established in 1997 as Educational Trust by our Board of Trustees.
Sri Sakthi Educational Trust Successfully runs 3 Institutions, Bharathiyar Arts and Science college for women, Bharathiyar College of Education and Bharathiyar Institute of Engineering for women. Our Bharathiyar Educational Institutions making a significant contribution to the society. The aim is to impart high quality Teacher Education to the rural youth and to promote their living standards.

This young and vibrant Institution focuses on quality Teacher Education and a spirit of innovation along with holistic personality development. These shape the students as a confident personality with a positive attitude to take on the challenges of the modern workplace.

Since the students are admitted from various sectors like rural, slow learners with Different linguistic base are pooled together and are trained with special coaching to copy up with present environment at studies.

The faculty selection is made on their qualification by subject expertise and allotted for the relevant papers and if necessary the faculty is sent for faculty development programmes for their skill development.

The faculty members are encouraged to do M.Phil., Ph.D for their quality and qualification improvement. Necessary facilities and motivation from the institution is also extended to faculty for perusing higher qualification and research activities.

The staff members are motivated to send articles in Journals, educational magazines, seminar papers etc.
The institution is striving for overall development of the students of B.Ed Courses and to prepare them with skills along with the qualification.

Eligible Criteria
A candidate shall be eligible for admissions to the course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) provide:

1. The candidates who have undergone 10+2+3 (15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern of study and passed the X and XII examination conducted by the respective state Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education/Examination and UG Degree examination of the UGC approved Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Second-ary/Higher Secondary Education level.

2. Candidates who have passed the UG or PG degree in Open University Sys-tem without qualifying in 11 years SSLC examination and 1 year of pre univer-sity Course (PUC) examination or 10+2 pattern of school education examina-tion shall not be considered for admission.

3. However, candidates not qualified in XII examination or PUC but possessing Two Years Bachelor Preparatory Programme Certificate/Two Years Foundation Course Certificate/Two Years Diploma Course conducted by State Govern-ment/recognized Universities and qualified with three years UG Degree course are also considered to be eligible for admission.

4. Candidates who have studied more than one main subject in Part III (under Double/Triple Major System) of UG Degree course should have to choose only one of the main subjects and should have applied for that Optional only. In such cases, marks obtained by the candidates in two/three major subjects shall be taken into account to arrive percentage of marks stipulated in item.

5. Candidates who have passed under Double Degree Programme / Additional Degree Programme with less than three years of duration are not eligible for admission.

6. Candidates who have qualified in PG Degree (5 year integrated course) under 10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern of study shall be considered for admission. In such case, the marks obtained by the candidates in the first three years (in major and ancillary/allied subjects alone) of the course alone shall be taken in to ac-count for admission.

7. Candidates with the following marks in the Bachelor’s Degree eligible for ad-mission to the course other then subjects like Economics, commerce, Home Science, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Logic and Indian Culture for which PG qualification is mandatory.

Computer Science Laboratory
The college has an ICT Centre that can accommodate 50 students at a time. The centre is maintained by qualified staffs, who also conduct theory and practical classes for the students. The Centre is available during and after class hours.

Library
The library card is a passport to wonders and miracles, glimpses into other lives, religions, experiences, the hopes and dreams and strivings of ALL human beings, and it is this passport that opens our eyes and hearts to the world beyond our front doors, that is one best hopes against tyranny, xenophobia, hopelessness, despair, anarchy, and ignorance.

Library is the heart of Educational institutions. A library is an organized collection of sources of information and similar resources, made accessible to a defined community for reference or borrowing. It provides physical or digital access to material, and may be a physical building or room, or a virtual space, or both. The main goal of library is to provide right documents to right users at right time. Our college library has books, newspaper and journals for the benefit of student and staff.

Hostel
College has a modern and hygienic hostel with facilities such as RO processed mineral water and hot Water facility.
Internet facilities are available in hostel.
Smart card Phone facilities are available in hostel.
Indoor and outdoor Game facilities are available.
A spacious hall with latest configured computer terminals and printing facilities are available.
A staff nurse is also available in the hostel for emergency medical assistants.
Further a van is always available in the hostel for any medical consultancy purposes.
Dailies and magazines are made available to the use of hostel inmates

Cafeteria
The College offers excellent canteen facilities to cater the needs of staffs and students with refreshments, stationeries, daily needs and food items are supplied at nominal rates. The college is equipped with a fully functional canteen to serve hygienically prepared food to the staff and students. A subsidized mess is also operative in the campus.

Sports
The College is keen on developing Sports and Games for benefit of the students. Students are encouraged to take active participation to develop healthy body, with sound mind. Participation in Sports and Games develops Team Spirit and it also improves the outlook of the individual. It also allows the participation to realize the value of healthy competition, co-operative relationship, team work and accepting the superiority of others with grace while striving for personal excellence. A traditional sport is always a part of college program. Our College students are participating in Annual Sports Meet conducted by Tamilnadu Teachers Education University in every year. Our Students won places in District and Zonal level meet every year.

Transport
The college currently provides transportation facilities by operating buses to take pupils from various towns, villages and even interior places and they are operated and maintained by experts. We are proud to say that we keep punctuality and regularity in the operation of buses.
