Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College is an offshoot of the Bishop Cotton Girls’ School and carries with it a rich tradition of more than 150 years of experience in imparting education. Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College was established in 1985 by the CSI TA Karnataka Central Diocese (Church of South India Trust Assocation) with a mission to serve the educational needs of women in our society. Character formation, academic excellence and service to the student community are our goals. While the institution is open to students from different communities, nationalities and economic status, its commitment is in accordance to the avowed intentions of the founders, which is to provide education and opportunities for the upward mobility of the Christian community.
The Chairman, members of the Board of Management, Principal and the faculty of Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, work tirelessly to forward the vision and the mission of the institution. The college has a self–contained campus, with 100 faculty members, 2200 students and 40 administrative and support staff. It comprises several departments in various disciplines of Arts, Science and Commerce with state-of-the-art laboratory and library facilities. The Bishop, Karnataka Central Diocese and Chairman, Board of Management, Rt. Rev. Dr Prasanakumar Samuel, is a visionary leader. A progressive Board, faculty with academic expertise, vibrant student community, an efficient administration, and support staff have all contributed to the growth of the institution.

The whole admission process for all the courses offered is offline and merit-based. Any candidate who fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria can take part in the admission process. Admission to all the courses is based on the marks scored by the applicant in the concerned qualifying examination.
The Placement & Career Forum of the college set up in 2004, has been growing steadily in terms of scope & function. Keeping with the Growth metrics of the college, this platform serves as a learning & launch pad for students from different Faculties. This serves as a transition for students from campus to corporate providing them with a firsthand exposure to the demands & expectations of the corporate world. This forum offers training to the interested students in Aptitude tests, Communication skills& Personality development. An orientation is given to the students both in terms of opportunities for Higher Education & different Career Avenues they could opt for & how they can prepare for the same. State Scholarship
To give financial support to the students in pursuing their educational aspirations, the Government of Karnataka have established multiple scholarship schemes. These scholarships are exclusively available to students who reside in the state of Karnataka. These scholarships aim to empower aspiring students by alleviating financial barriers and enabling them to pursue their academic dreams without hindrance. Students who belong to the backward classes, defence and Physical Disability category from the Department of State Scholarship Portal (SSP).

Karnataka Minority Scholarship
The Post-Matric and Merit-Cum-Scholarships aims at encouraging and providing financial assistance to the students of the minority community of the state to allow them to continue their studies. Applicable mainly to students of communities such as Muslims, Christians, Jain, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zorastrian (Parsis), and Jains from the Directorate of Minorities, Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Karnataka awarded by the Minority Affairs, Government of India.
