About College
BMS College for Women was started in the year 1964 by visionary Late Sri.B.S.Narayan in memory of his father Late Sri B.M. Sreenivasaiah, philanthropist and educationalist, in order to impart quality education for women. The College is one of the premier educational institutions in South Bengaluru functioning under the umbrella of BMS Educational Trust. The college is affiliated to Bengaluru City University and Accredited thrice with ‘A’ grade in 2004, 2009 and 2016 by NAAC. With more than 50 glorious years of experience in the field of education, the college has firmly established its reputation internationally under the able guidance of Dr. B.S.Ragini Narayan, wife of Late B.S. Narayan, Donor Trustee, Member Secretary, BMSET and Chairperson of B.M.S College for Women.

The College offers UG Courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science and Vocational Courses. To equip students with the necessary skills for employment and entrepreneurship, Add-on, Diploma and Certificate courses are conducted throughout the year. The college offers Postgraduate Courses in Commerce, Mathematics and Chemistry. The College has well planned infrastructure and amenities that provide an ideal atmosphere for an effective teaching and learning. The College is recognised by UGC as Mentor Institution under Paramarsh Scheme.

Attainment of program outcomes(PO), program specific outcomes(PSO) and course outcomes(CO) The levels of attainment of Programme Outcomes (POs), Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) and Course Outcomes (COs) are determined by both direct and indirect methods. Placement is designated as the primary means in assessing the utilization of the intended POs and PSOs. With the examination system as the mechanism for the assessment of COs, the institution ensures the inculcation of the theoretical and practical essentials of every course among students. The annual percentage of pass rate, which indicates the Internal and External Examinations, is the quantitative yardstick in this direction. The annual campus placement of students reveals the employability quotient-based outcome. Number of students placed in reputed Multinational Companies. The Alumni association and HODs of various departments consistently monitors. Under Graduate students motivated about employment opportunities competitive examination and career opportunities in their respective fields. The post-college endeavours of the alumni which constitute yet another instrument in evaluating the tri-layered outcomes in terms of Higher Education/Research and Employment status. Many students have become successful Entrepreneurs, journalists playing a splendid role in reputed printed and visual media and selected National and International sports. Postgraduate students are motivated further to pursue research programmes. Students specialising in particular sports are absorbed by State Services.

The Placement Cell has been active right from its inception in 1999.There is a positive and enthusiastic response from the students. Many students have been placed in multi-national companies through campus selection.

EFFORTS:
The placement cell is equipped with full time Placement Officer and the cell is fully functional throughout the year to meet the expectations of companies in campus interviews and various training institutions to provide the required competence trainings to the students.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of the placement cell is
To increase the percentage of placements year on year basis.
To ensure, no students are deprived of the placement facilities offered by the college & to motivate & enhance the thought process of the students on the organization's work culture and environment.
To encourage various companies to conduct campus drives by stressing the women empowerment and showcase the talent and skills of our students.
To organize various Career Development seminars from various reputed institutions.
To provide Personality Development trainings and to enhance the Interpersonal and Communication skills of the students by conducting mock interviews, debates, spot sessions and various in house programs.
To improvise the relationship between the organizations and our education institution by promoting the talent and efficiency of our students in the job market.
Student Development Program:

Endowment Scholarship: Awarded to a student from each stream, based on her performance in all the three academic years. Cash Awards to University Rank Holders & Gold Medalists. Cash Prize to State Awardees in Sports: Cash prize of Rs. 2,500/- awarded to a student who receives a state award in sports

BMSCW Bangalore Facilities

Library
The college library is housed on the first floor in a spacious 5600 sqft carpet area having 80 seating capacity and a well-ventilated block. With a separate reading room and a Reference section, a Periodical section, a Reprographic Section, a Competitive Book Corner, a Technical Section, a Display of New Arrivals, and so on. The library serves as a central information center for students, staff, and researchers. The Library offers an expansive collection comprising more than sixty thousand Reference books, Textbooks, Journals (both National and International), periodicals, and Other Resources.


Laboratories
The college has Well Equipped laboratories with updated Software and instruments that help students to learn practically and submit their project assignments.


Auditorium
The Seminar Hall in the College hosts events for both students and staff members. The hall is well-furnished, air-conditioned, and equipped with a projector and an audio system that has access to the internet. It is a go-to venue for conferences, workshops, seminars, webinars, and many other formal and informal activities. The College facilitates an Open Air Auditorium for the students and staff. It is used for various academic and cultural events of the college and has a capacity to seat around 1000 students. It has also played a host to prominent personalities and many reputed people.


Cafeteria
The college has a canteen that serves nutritious hygienic and multicuisine food, beverages, snacks at a subsided rate.


Medical/Hospital
The college has an in-house qualified lady duty doctor to attend First Aid. Annual medical examination of the students is done at the health center located on the college campus. In case of emergency, the services of BMS hospitals are used. A transport facility is also available to transfer patients from the college to the hospital.

I.T Infrastructure
The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.


Gym
The college has a Gym which is well equipped with gadgets like treadmills, bicycles, etc which are available both for the students and the staff.


Sports
The spacious College Ground is used regularly for practice sessions and regular matches. Occasionally the neighboring Engineering College Ground is also made use of.

Convenience Store
The college Book Shop supplies textbooks, records, notebooks, and all other stationery items.

Girls Hostel
The College has A Hostel of international standards that caters to the needs of students coming from other states/countries and is situated on the premises of BMS Engineering College.


Alumni Associations
The College provides Alumni Association which brings all these people together on a single platform and develops synergistic plans to aid and improve Institutional endeavors
