About

B.M.S. Institute of Technology and Management (Autonomous) is a private engineering college which was started in the year 2002 by Bhusanayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah Institute of Technology (BMSIT) and is run by the B.M.S. Educational Trust.  It was founded by B S Narayana, son of educationist Shri B M Sreenivasaiah. It is the sister institution of B M S College of Engineering, a well established government aided engineering college in India.  The Institute was recognized as a Research Centre by Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2005.  It was awarded Autonomous status in 2020.  Though a private college, it is partially funded by the Government of Karnataka.  BMS Institute of Technology & Management provides personalized and interdisciplinary educational experiences to highly qualified students 

BMSIT&M is located in the heart of Bangalore, the Garden City of India, in a sprawling 25 acre campus on Dodballapura Main Road, Avalahalli, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Karnataka, diagonally opposite to the Halli Saviruchi.

Admission Procedure

BMSIT Courses are offered at UG, PG, Doctorate level. There are 22 courses offered at BMSIT. The courses are offered disciplines like Engineering, Management, Computer Applications. BMSIT courses includes BE, M.Tech, MCA, MBA. Popular courses at BMSIT are BE, M.Tech, MCA.

Admission Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates shall have passed the 2nd year Pre University or 12th standard or equivalent examination held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects - Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology or Electronics. The Candidate should have secured not less that 45% of aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the languages for admissions to engineering.

• Management Quota: The admission under management quota is processed in the office of the BMS Educational Trust. The Council of Trustees decide the tuition fee for various courses under management quota and seats are allotted by the Chief of the Admission Committee. The BMS Educational Trust advertises regarding the admission and the application forms are issued to the aspirants in the month of June / July of every year.

Scholarship

The college offers various scholarships primarily based on merit, caste, and financial need. There are specific scholarships available for SC/ST students, those from Karnataka, and students with high academic performance. Income-based scholarships are available for students with family incomes below 50,000 INR. The E-pass scholarship provides approximately 18,090 INR for eligible students.

Additionally, merit-cum-means scholarships are available for talented students. The college provides assistance for state government scholarships and BMS trust scholarships for merit students. The bank inside the campus, Allahabad Bank, provides education loans to students with favorable interest terms. However, general category students with sufficient family income may not qualify for these scholarships.

Students seeking scholarships must meet the particular eligibility criteria and fill out the necessary forms for consideration.

Placement 

The Placement and Training Cell was established during the year 2004. The very first batch of graduated students were placed from the campus in 2005-06. The PT Cell is fully sustained and provides complete placement solutions to the students of the institute and BMSIT&M has a good placement track record among the top ranked engineering colleges in Bengaluru.

There has been a steady increase in the number of recruiting organizations since its establishment and at present we have 300+ organizations where in BMSIT&M alumni are making a difference, both to the glory of the organization and institute, bringing an active change in the society.

The exposure to such activities has taken the growth of students to a new frontier. BMSIT&M has established several clubs and associations across all its conglomerate departments to aid in this development. Students on campus actively take part in these clubs and conduct events to engage students in various activities. Internet facility has been crucial in the evolution of our education system in many ways. In order to support its employees and students with best IT infrastructure, BMSIT&M has established one of its the best, robust network infrastructure in 2019-2020 to facilitate reliable and high speed internet service to both Students, Faculty and Researchers at the campus and BMSIT&M Hostels.

Located in Yelahanka, the massive 22 acre campus enables BMSIT&M to impart high quality technical education to its students in a pollution free environment. This is achieved with over 75% of the campus being covered with a lawn, a mini forest, scores of trees, parks, gardens and above all a green canopy of Kadamba, Badhami and Rain trees. Housing several evergreen, semi-evergreen, tropical, deciduous, dry, ornamental, fruit bearing, medicinal, bio-diesel plants, plenty of shrubs, jungle wood trees etc. The BMSIT&M campus is totally eco-friendly. All of this is maintained and managed by more than 23 garden staff who are dedicated to keeping the campus sustainable and playing its part in addressing the issue of global warming.

Hostel

The college provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with modern amenities such as furnished rooms, Wi-Fi, mess services, security, and recreational facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Transport

The transport department started its operation in the year 2002 with two buses (Route 1 and 2) to commute students and staff from and to the institute.Subsequently, another three buses were purchased. At present, we are owning 5 buses having average seating capacity of 52. Also, with the increase the institute intake over years and to meet the demand, we are hiring 9 BMTC chartered contract services to provide transportation service to students and staff across the various parts of Bangalore city. Totally we are having 14 buses (05 college owned buses and 09 BMTC hired contract services) operating at present.
