C Byregowda Institute of Technology is a Private Un-Aided Institute which was established in the year 2009.  CBIT was promoted by C Byregowda Educational and Cultural Trust ® in the memory of great visionary the late Sri C Byregowda, Ex-Agriculture Minister, Govt. of Karnataka, in the year 2009.

 
CBIT campus is situated in a serene environment (which provides an ideal setting for learning and academic pursuits) spread over 18 acres of lush green surroundings on Kolar-Srinivaspur Main Road, Thoradevandahalli, Kolar, Karnataka.  It is located just 5 km from Kolar city which is 60 km away from Bangalore.

 
The college is Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and Recognized by Government of Karnataka. CBIT has been approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi

 
C. Byregowda Institute of Technology emphasizes on comprehensive educational programs leading to high academic standards and offers UG Degree program BE in 6 disciplines.  The students are admitted on merit based on COMEDK UGET/JEE Mains/KCET and College entrance exam scores, as per the directives of the Government of Karnataka from time to time, both to the Government Quota and the Management Quota.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates shall have passed the 2nd year Pre-University or 12th standard, or equivalent examination held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology or Electronics. The Candidate should have secured not less than 45% (40% in case of category) of aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the languages for admissions to engineering.

For Engineering Admission through Management Quota in CBIT, the minimum percentage of marks expected is 45% (40% in case of category) as per the current norms of the management
