Carmel College of Engineering & Technology (CCET) is owned and managed by the St.Joseph's Carmel Educational & Charitable Trust of CMI under the leadership of St Joseph’s Carmel Monastery of CMI St Joseph’s Province, Trivandrum. The Institution was established by this Public Charitable Trust in 2014 at Punnapra, Alappuzha, with the objective of providing education in the field of Engineering & Technology. Our vision is to mould engineers par excellence with integrity, commitment and human values, who are competent to meet the global standards in business, industry and research and would act as catalysts for the transformation of the society.

Carmel College of Engineering & Technology is a self-financing college approved by AICTE and affiliated to A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram. Carmel College of Engineering and Technology offers 4 year B.Tech programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. The College recently got accredited by NBA for Civil and Mechanical Engineering Programmes from 2023 to 2026.

Career Guidance & Placement

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell functioning in the College is entrusted with assessing the caliber of the students and by matching with their desire and strength. At CCET, we always believe in equipping our students with the right talent and personality to equate Industry parameters. Our focus on placement centers on creating new approaches to attract the best from the industry to our campus.

The Cell functions with the primary aim of achieving 100% placement of students in top-notch companies even before they have completed their courses. The Cell endeavors all-out efforts for equipping the students in perfect harmony with modern industrial requirements.

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the college is headed by a Head Corporate Relations and Placements supported by Faculty coordinators from each department. The cell has two student representatives from each class, from among whom a student coordinator is elected. The student coordinator liaisons with the Faculty coordinator to carry out routine functions of the cell.

Hostel
One of the attractions of Carmel is the excellent hostel facility. The two campus hostels, one for gents and the other for ladies, are taken care of by dedicated Catholic Priests and Nuns. Affectionate discipline, tasty food at moderate rates and neat rooms with modern sanitation and professional laundry services are the hallmarks of the Carmel Engineering college hostels.

Canteen

The college canteen offers variety of quality dishes at subsidised rates to students, staff and visitors. It remains open on all working days and it tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussions and even work on assignments and projects. The canteen is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm every day.

Auditorium
The fully functional well-equipped ventilated college auditorium cum multipurpose building has a seating capacity of over 400 people.The auditorium is spacious, well ventilated and has well furnished halls. The Auditorium hosts various academic ,annual and cultural events of the college and other activities.A regular venue for conferences, workshops and seminars, this auditorium has all the facilities to enhance the learning process and is a vast space that serves the varied requirements of quality education. It also encourages well-known cultural groups to hold their programmes for the benefit of the students and community.

Transport 

A fleet of five buses ply on Changanacherry, Kayamkulam/Ochira, Cherthala, Edathua-Thiruvalla, Muhamma- Thanneermukkom and Mavelikkara routes in the morning and evening. Around 200 students and staff from various parts of the region use these bus services for conveyance
