Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar also known as CIT Kokrajhar is a centrally funded technical institute located in Kokrajhar Assam India It was established in 2006 following the formation of the Bodoland Territorial Council The institute was founded to provide quality technical education to the region especially for the Bodo community and to promote regional development

Admission Procedure

B.Tech - 4 Years Course

Admission Process

• Admission via either:

  • CITDEE (the institute’s own entrance exam) OR

• 60% of B.Tech seats are via CITDEE; remaining 40% via JEE‑Main.

Eligibility

• You must pass 10+2 (or equivalent) with relevant subjects (Physics, Mathematics + Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Vocational / Agriculture / Engineering‑Graphics / etc.). 

• Minimum marks: 50% aggregate for general category (relaxation applies: 45% for SC/ST/PWD) 

• Age limit: Between 17 and 21 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. (Upper‑age limit relaxed by 3 years for SC/ST/PWD

B.Des - 4 Years Course

Admission Process

• Admission via either:

  • CITBDAT (CIT‑conducted Bachelor of Design Admission Test), OR

  • UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design by IIT Bombay) 

• Seat allocation: Typically, a portion via CITBDAT and remaining via UCEED-qualified candidates

Eligibility

• Pass 10+2 (any stream: Science / Arts / Commerce / Others) or equivalent recognized qualification. 

• Minimum marks: 50% aggregate for general (relaxation for SC/ST/PWD) 

• Age limit: Between 17 and 21 years as on 1st August of that academic year. Relaxation of 3 years for SC/ST/PWD

M.Tech - 2 Years Course

Admission Process

• Candidates must qualify either the institute’s own entrance exam — CITMEE — OR the national-level GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). 

• After entrance exam qualification, there may be a personal interview by the respective department. 

• If GATE-qualified, candidates may be given preference over non-GATE candidates

Eligibility

• Must have a B.E. / B.Tech (or equivalent) degree in a relevant discipline for the chosen specialization. 

• Minimum academic performance: 60% marks or CGPA 6.5/10 (or First Class) in the qualifying degree.

M.Des - 2 Years Course

Admission Process

• Admission to M.Des is via either the institute’s own design entrance test — CITMDAT — OR the national-level design entrance exam CEED (conducted by IIT‑Bombay) when applicable. 

• Candidates who meet eligibility and clear entrance test are considered for admission; selection is followed by counselling as per institute’s admission schedule. (As indicated by regular “shortlisted for M.Tech & M.Des” notifications.)

Eligibility

• Candidates must have completed a 3-year degree (10+2+3 pattern) in any specialization from a recognized institution with at least one year of professional programme or work experience in relevant areas (art, animation, multimedia, mass‑media, design) — OR

• A 4‑year B.Des / BFA / BVA / equivalent design-related degree — or final‑year student of such a course — OR a 5‑year professional degree (BFA/BVA or equivalent) in a relevant field.
