Central University of Kashmir (CUK), commonly known as CU Kashmir, is a central public university located in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir. It was established in 2009 by an Act of Parliament under the Central Universities Act, 2009 by the Government of India. The university was set up with the objective of promoting quality higher education, research, and inclusive academic development in the Kashmir region.

The main campus of the university is located at Green Campus, Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir – 191201. Situated in a scenic and peaceful environment near Srinagar, the university offers an academically conducive atmosphere. The campus is spread over a large land area (over 500 acres planned) and is accessible by road from Srinagar city and the Srinagar International Airport.

Central University of Kashmir offers courses at UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. Admission Process

Central University of Kashmir offers admission to its UG, PG, and PhD programs through online mode only. Admissions are conducted strictly through national-level entrance examinations, primarily CUET.

• Register for CUET: Candidates must apply for CUET UG or CUET PG on the official NTA portal and select Central University of Kashmir with the relevant course codes.
  
• Appear for CUET Exam: Attend the entrance exam as per the scheduled date and download the scorecard once released.

Financial assistance from central and state governments is also accessible. However, the university does not provide on-campus placements or internships. Students may need to pay additional transportation and examination fees, and hostel facilities are managed by third parties. The university does engage in field visits and industrial tours for certain programs.

The college offers robust placements and internship opportunities, with a high rate of success. Approximately 85-90% of students secure positions in esteemed organizations annually. Facilities Offered @ Central University of Kashmir, Ganderbal

The Library offers book service to its clientele which includes students, research scholars, faculty members, and other administrative staff of the University. Duration and the number of books that users can avail on loan vary amongst different types of users.

The Central University of Kashmir is located at Ganderbal District of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Around 30 Kilometres from Srinagar’s City centre Lal-Chowk, the Main Campus of the Central University of Kashmir is located at Tulmulla, Ganderbal. The Campus is spread over a vast landscape with scenic surroundings, providing the campus a calm ambience suited for an academic institution.

The Central University has acquired 503 acres of land in the Tulmulla area of Ganderbal to create a state of the art campus that will fulfil all the requirements of a modern University. The University has build several Academic & Administrative buildings at the main campus site, Tulmulla. The construction work is currently going on in full swing at the campus site. The University is gradually shifting more departments to its new campus at Tulmulla.

Being the main site for University's construction work, the main campus is home to Engineering Wing of the University that overlooks the construction works carried out by various agencies. The Campus hosts the Data Centre of the University housing the major networking, Intranet, communication and surveillance equipment. Besides, the campus also hosts the following Academic & Administrative Departments. Located at Duderhama in Ganderbal district, the Green campus is located around 20 Kilometers from Lal-Chowk, Srinagar. Dotted with majestic Chinar trees, the Green Camps rests on the banks of River Sindh, presenting a picturesque environment. The presence of Heritage Chinars in the green campus presents a sight of a well preserved ecological and Heritage campus.

Hostel

The college offers separate hostels for boys and girls, providing essential facilities such as water, electricity, and satisfactory mess food. However, there is a significant shortage of hostel rooms, affecting students who live far from campus. While the hostels are considered affordable and satisfying, some find the rental rates slightly high relative to the provided amenities. The infrastructure is moderate, with potential for modernization.

Transport

The university offers transport facilities connecting the campus with nearby areas and Srinagar city, making daily commuting convenient for students and staff.
