Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design (CAAD) is a premier Architecture College in Chennai, established in the year 2014 by The Aarulmigu Nayagai Swamigal Sourashtra Educational Trust. The trust was established with a prime objective of spearheading quality education in disciplines which are identified with capacities to make profound impact to the human society. With this deep sense of social responsibility and quest to deliver quality education, CAAD was initiated on par with excellence. CAAD-Chennai is an exclusive Architecture college in Chennai located in a Campus Size of 2.50 acres on the Chennai-Thirupathi Highway, Kannigaipair, near Periyapalayam.

It is a co-educational college which is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. 

Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design is known for its unique UG Degree course in Architecture & Planning - B.Arch. The course is available in Full Time mode. CAAD offers B.Arch, B.Design, PG Degree and Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration.

The duration of the B.Arch. course is 5 years. B.Des is 4 years, PG is 2 years and Diploma is 3 years.

The eligibility for Admission to B.Arch is 12th or Diploma Pass (Maths compulsory) and should have cleared NATA 2022 or JEE Paper 2. The eligibility for admission to B.Des course is a pass in 12th grade (any stream) or a Diploma qualification is necessary. NATA is NOT required for this course. For PG program the eligibility for admission is B.Arch./ B.E (Civil). And for The Diploma the eligibility is 10th pass.

CAAD is the only college in the region that offers International exposure to students every year even during their B.Arch studies making them globally competent professionals. MOU’s are signed with International Universities for student and faculty exchange programmes. The M.S (Healthcare Architecture) Postgraduate Degree Program is offered by Wilmington Metropolitan University, California, USA in collaboration with Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design as program facilitator in India and Abroad.

Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design has a main motive of educating the students with world-class facilities and infrastructure. It provides well stocked multi-level Air Conditioned Library, Air Conditioned Auditorium for lectures and events, Multi-purpose Hall for students’ works submission and events, Air – Conditioned computer lab at CAAD houses state-of-the-art PC’s and laptops to support the latest software for architectural renderings. Admissions

1. Bachelor of Architecture – B. Arch., (5 YEARS)

·         Eligibility

Candidates must have passed 12th or a Diploma qualification. The applicant should have taken Maths as a subject of study in the 12th grade or in the Diploma.

The applicant should have cleared the NATA 2022 or JEE Paper II.

2. Bachelor of Design – B. Des., (4 YEARS)

·         Eligibility

A pass in 12th grade (any stream) or a Diploma qualification is necessary. NATA is NOT required for this course.

B.Arch., – Bachelor of Architecture

Placements: 

Placements are not provided in the architecture course compared to other engineering courses which have placements. You need to do an internship during the 4th year of your course and gain experience from internships for a duration of two semesters.

There are various Architecture colleges in India which offer BArch courses as well as high-scale placement packages to their BArch graduates.
