  Recognizing the need of employable engineers in Industries, Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT)  a private institute in Chennai, Tamil Nadu was founded by the Parthasarathy Seeniammal Educational Trust in 2010 with the primary objective of providing quality technical education with adequate industrial exposure, catering to the needs of youth with its innovative teaching methods.  Mr. P. Sriram, The Chairman of  Chennai Institute of Technology, is a successful first generation entrepreneur in the metro for the past two decades, having adequate and relevant expertise in the industry. enhanced his thirst for establishing a technical educational institution under the banner of Chennai Institute of Technology.

  CIT is an Industry-connected Autonomous, Co-educational Engineering college located at Kundrathur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.  Chennai Institute of Technology has been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University.  The UGC and AICTE-approved Institute has been granted an Autonomous status. In the Anna University Results, CIT was ranked second among Tamil Nadu Engineering Colleges. CIT provides B.E/B.Tech, M.E, and Ph.D. degrees. The college places a strong emphasis on research and development and collaborates with a variety of industries and research organisations. The management team has extensive industrial experience, having previously run MK Auto Components India Ltd, Sarathy Auto Components, and Gokul Auto Tech Pvt Ltd, Heat Treaters.

  Unlike other colleges, Chennai Institute Of Technology, unlike most other colleges,  gives access to students to learn other courses from other departments. It also adapts to the ever evolving global changes and teaches students the latest industrial technology like Industry 4.0, Nanotechnology, Defense and Space Research and also many more for which they have a whole center for different technology in the college itself.

Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT) offers B.E. and B.Tech courses under 7 and 3 specialization respectively. Candidates from Tamil Nadu state who have completed their 10+2 level from another state must produce a certificate of Nativity in order to seek admission under community quota.

 For B.E./B.Tech, candidates must pass 10+2 with minimum 50% marks in the science stream and admission the course is based on the TNEA exam scores.

Candidates from Backward Classes who have secured a minimum of 45% marks, MBC & DNC candidates with 40% marks and SC/ ST/ SCA candidates with 40% marks are eligible.

Admission to M.E. is done on the basis of GATE/ TANCET scores. For M.E., a candidate must have passed B.E. /B.Tech. degree in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks.

Engineering Diploma holders of a minimum three-year duration with minimum 50% marks are eligible to seek admission to 2nd year of the B.E. program under the Lateral Entry scheme.

A well lit and built “ Shri. Parthasarathy Auditorium ” having a seating capacity of 1,500 in 12000 sqft area. This centralized AC hall has well balanced acoustic engineered designs using sophisticated sound equipment.

A beautiful hostel for boys is available in the campus with necessary amenities like individual cot, study table, chair & wardrobe with locking facility. VAIGAI GIRLS HOSTEL 

An exclusive & well secured hostel for girls is available for the students. The hostel is maintained by a well qualified team of Warden and maintenance staff. Our Girls hostel is provided with 24 hours power backup with good RO drinking water facility, reading room, TV lounge, Shuttle Badminton Court & indoor games like Carrom board, Table Tennis, Chess and a world class Gym. Students are provided with 24×7 high speed unlimited wi-fi internet facilities in the hostel.

Laptop, mobile phones are allowed to use inside the Hostel. Students can use COE and other lab facilities to involve in research activities. Girls students can also access the gym facility in the specific time both in the morning & in the evening. Students can involve in the sport activities. Hygienically prepared homely style Vegetarian & non Vegetarian food is provided in the hostel mess.

  A fleet of Buses is operating across the city to our College. The bus network covers all corners of the city and important junctions. A team of experienced drivers drive our buses complying all safety norms and traffic rules. The College encourages the student to make use of the transport so that they can reach the college in time safely and comfortably. With the help of individual bus incharges, special attention is given on all the students for their commutation

  Also, MTC bus facilities and Auto Facilities are available to our College campus at frequent intervals throughout the day.
