Christ Institute of Technology (CIT) (Formerly Dr. S.J.S. Paul Memorial College of Engineering & Technology) was established in the year 2007 under the aegis of Sam Paul Educational Trust and it has already earned a good reputation in the region for serious academics and strict discipline.  Sam Paul Educational Trust was formed in the year 2004, with the aim of providing quality education matching with the best in the country.  The founder of the Trust, Dr. S.R.S. Paul, is a professional and has successfully promoted a number of Educational Institutions in and around the State of Puducherry.  He is a Doctorate from College of Engineering, Guindy and a Post-Graduate Engineer from Anna University, Chennai. He was groomed by his father, Dr. S.J.S. Paul, a noted Industrialist and academician. The Trustee, Dr. Mrs. Anbu Paul, is a leading Paediatrician in Chennai. She provides able leadership to the institutions under the Trust which include two B.Ed College, a Catering Institute, an International School besides two Engineering Colleges.

Christ Institute of Technology (in French: Institut de technologie du Christ) was establuished to provide technical education to young citizens.  The college is administered by a Board of Management of a unit of Sam Paul Educational Trust.  Dr. S.R.S. Paul is the Chairman-Managing Director and Dr. A. Sivakumar is its Principal.

CIT is located at Ramanathapuram Revenue Village, Villianur Commune, Puducherry in the suburban locality of Moolakulum, about four kilometers from Puducherry and 36 kilometers from Villupuram Smart City.  The college has a campus spread in an area of 60 acres of land. It consists of a number of buildings. The atmosphere is conducive for calm and peaceful academic pursuits. The college is within easy reach of Puducherry, set amidst lush green fields and forests.  It is close to the scenic ousteri lake. It has easy accessibility and excellent roads connecting the main arterial roads to Villupuram and Tindivanam. 

It is affiliated to" Pondicherry University" and it is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India. Christ Institute of Technology is sought after for its academic excellence, highly qualified and experienced faculty, excellent infra- structure facilities for curricular, co-curricular, sports and recreational activities.

Christ Institute of Technology College offers 6 B.tech courses. 50% of the seats are filled by the Government through CENTAC and 50% of the seats are filled by the management.

Eligibility for B.Tech Course:

A pass in the higher secondary examination of the (10+2) curriculum (academic stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examination equivalent there to with a minimum of 45% marks. For Direct entry Students the eligibility to admission to the undergraduate degree courses is a successful completion of the higher secondary course or equivalent level education or an examination of any University or Authority recognized by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto.

Eligibility for B.Tech course (Lateral entry)
A pass in the higher secondary examination of the (10+2) curriculum (academic stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examination equivalent there to with a minimum of 45% marks.  For lateral entry students (those entering in the second year), diploma degree in any engineering course is necessary. Students can also enter via CENTAC, in which case they would not have to pay management seats. 50% of the college seats are reserved for students who deserve CENTAC seats.

Entrance Examination
Candidates seeking admission to all the UG programmes under Management quota must have appeared for the common entrance test for Pondicherry private Engineering Colleges (CETPPEC) and should also fulfill all the requirements prescribed by the Pondicherry University/ AICTE/Govt. of Puducherry for the course.

Eligibility for M.Tech course
Degree in Science / Engineering with 3 Years work experience with softwareIndustry/ IT Department. Undergraduate with 50% in all the subjects including languages (Except B.E or BTech).

Placement
The Placement Cell was established in 2009. The cell arranges campus interviews with organisations for placement of final year students, and arranges in-industry training for students. Campus placement training (HR, Technical, GD, Written Test) is given in the pre-final year for all eligible candidates.

Number of attempts

A pass in the higher secondary examination of the (10+2) curriculum (academic stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examination equivalent there to with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category) in aggregate of subjects – Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry / Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Biology (Botany & Zoology) or an examination of any University or Authority recognized by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto.

Age Limit The upper age limit is 21 years on 1st July of the academic year ( Relaxation up to three years for candidates belonging to OBC / BCM / MBC / EBC and BT communities and five years for candidates belonging to SC / ST communities.

As per our records, Christ Institute of Technology (Formerly Dr.S.J.S.Paul Memorial College of Engineering and Technology) can offer scholarships for the session 2023-24 for various programs. However, you should enquire about scholarships from the college officials. Remember the minimum fee for the program at this institute is Rs.150,000.
