  Christian Medical College (CMC), located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, is an unaided minority educational institution established in the year 1900, 123 years ago. Started as a single-bedded clinic, under the leadership of Dr. Ida Sophia Scudder, the only daughter of second-generation American missionaries, it grew into a full-fledged medical college.

  CMC, Vellore is the home of the South Asian Cochrane Network and Center and is also an internationally recognized Infectious Diseases Training and Research Center. The college hosts a Stem Cell Research Center, which is funded by the Indian government.

  Situated 7 km. south of the main hospital is the CMC, Vellore campus set in a green, quiet and calm 200-acre site. Classrooms and laboratories for pre-clinical students are within the campus which also houses the main hospital, hostels for nurses (staff and students) and some accommodation for faculty. There are numerous commercial boarding and lodging facilities around the town campus. A majority of the faculty stay on this campus.  Housing for doctors, and patient relatives is also available at the Town Campus, which has various amenities like Hostels,  institutional canteens, ATMs, post offices, provision shops, gift stores and so on. The Medical College Campus on the southern outskirts of Vellore  city is a 200-acre wooded site at the foot of College Hill. Built in 1932, it remains, as originally envisaged, a residential community where students and staff can study and reside in serene and beautiful surrounding.

   The main hospital is situated in the 19-acre Town Campus (earlier referred to as the Thottappalayam Campus) in the heart of Vellore town which is 150 km. west of Chennai on the highway to Bangalore and is well connected by road and rail. For those travelling by train, the station to alight at is Katpadi, which is on the Chennai to Bangalore or Coimbatore line. Frequent bus services connect the major towns in the region (Chennai, Chittoor, Bangalore, Salem, and Trichy) to Vellore.

CMC, Vellore Admission 

  CMC Vellore Admission 2023 for various UG and PG medical courses is now open. CMC Vellore is a private educational and research institute affiliated with Dr MGR Medical University, Tamil Nadu. The college offers multiple UG and PG courses in 27 specialities. The college also provides 30 higher speciality courses and postdoctoral fellowship courses in specialities like Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Bioethics, Medical Physics, Public Health, Bioengineering and Clinical Engineering and M.B.A. in Hospital and Health Systems Management.  

  CMC Vellore offers 20 degrees, 10 diplomas, 13 PG diplomas and 3 fellowship courses under Allied Health Science.

  CMC Vellore Admission is done through the NEET entrance examination followed by an Interview round.

  Admission to Nursing College is based on the college entrance exam (CBT). 

   UG and PG course admission is based on the entrance exam conducted by CMC Vellore. 

  A crucial component of CMC Vellore, the Nursing College offers B.Sc, M.Sc and Diploma degrees to 100 students each year

  CMC Vellore has released the official notification for CMC Vellore Admission 2023. However, NEET PG and NEET UG exam dates have been announced by NTA. The admission to various UG and PG courses in CMC Vellore is based on these national-level entrance exams only.
