CMRIT offers a wide range of UG, PG and Doctoral programs in the fields of Engineering, Management and Computer Application.  The UG Course offered is B.E in 7 Disciplines.  Among PG programs the college offers M.Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems as well as MBA and MCA. It also offers Ph.D through its Research Centers in in 4 areas of specialization. Intake is UG: 960 and PG: 102. The admissions to these programs are on the basis of respective entrance exams:

Common Entrance Test (CET) and Selection Process

The Government of Karnataka conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) through the Karnataka Examination Authority. This entrance exam is a gateway to obtaining an engineering seat through the Government quota. The CET conducts the examination in four subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Candidates who wish to seek admission in engineering courses should appear for the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics exams. Students are offered a choice of colleges based on their CET ranking at the time of CET counseling, and can choose CMRIT at the time of CET counseling. COMEDK and Selection Process

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association namely “Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka”, COMEDK also conducts entrance examinations for all students irrespective of state. After the COMEDK entrance test is administered and the test scores and rank lists have been published, centralized counseling will be conducted. Students are given the option of selecting the college of their choice during COMEDK counseling, and can choose CMRIT at this time.

Management Admission Process

Admission through this process is open to both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students. Eligible students (those who meet qualifying requirements as per the eligibility criteria) may contact the CMRIT Admissions Section in order to obtain the application form. Candidates will be selected based on their academic merit.

Admissions Procedure
Candidates must fill in the registration form. This is to be done at the CMRIT College Campus.
Visit the Admissions Section, and meet the Admission Coordinator (Mrs. Revathi. R).
Admission fee details will be shared with the prospective candidate.
Once the seat has been confirmed, candidates may fill out the application form and submit it along with the documents specified below.

Campus Hiring
Each year, we invite our industry partners and other reputed organizations to the college campus to participate in the placement process for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. We connect to invited companies, discuss their requirements and mutually agree on a tentative date for doing the placement drive. We also connect to all students, collate the student data, get their registrations for placements and brief them the placement policy and rules before the placement season starts for all the final year students.

We follow the below placement process for smooth running of placement drives and the post selection steps of offer acceptance, pre-joining formalities and the candidate joining process:

We get the job requirements, position description, eligibility criteria, salary details and the company introduction note that we can share with students.
We publish the company details and their requirements to all students through a college internal portal.
Eligible and interested students apply for jobs by registering themselves on the portal.
We send eligible and interested students list to the company with all the student data like degree/department, date of birth, prior education marks, current CGPA, backlogs, etc.
Companies will review the students, shortlist if required and send the final list of students prior to the placement drive date.
Visiting companies will start with pre-placement talk on drive date and directly interact with the eligible students. During these sessions, they will provide overviews of the job profiles, job descriptions, compensation, company’s expectations and other specific requirements. Students will clarify any questions they have with company delegates.
Companies typically conduct Written Tests, Group Discussions/Case Studies and Personal Interviews as part of the placement process.
Most companies announce the selected students by end of day on the drive date. Further to this, Company’s HR team confirms selected students list by a mail.
As a post selection process, Companies send formal offer letters to the individual students with a copy to placement department.
We connect to students and follow through the acceptance process and any other post offer activities like document submissions, briefing sessions, trainings, internships, etc.
We are connected to students and the companies till all the students completes post offer formalities and joins the organization.

The CMRIT Central Library, at the heart of the Campus, provides an ideal environment for intellectual inquiry with its multiple Study Spaces, Research Assistance, Reading, Learning and Instructional Resources. State-of-the-Art ICT facilities are established to provide much-needed services to support excellence in Teaching, Learning, Research, and Extension. The User-focused facilities and services provide seamless access to resources and to evaluate scholarly information for learning.

The Central Library, with an area of 2400 sq.m, is designed in such a way it has natural light for the entire day and provides a friendly environment to gain knowledge in an effective manner. Accommodating various facilities such as reading – learning resources, Wi-Fi, Internet access, and electrical plug-in facilities, there are seating arrangements for about 200 users at any point in time. Digital Learning Resources and online access to major e-Journals and e-Books on Science, Technology, and Management are available from VTU and Developing Library Network (DELNET). KOHA, an Integrated Library Management Software package is used for library operations and resource sharing among the CMR Group of Institutes’ libraries. Institutional Repository (IR), a digital repository of CMRIT Central Library Faculty publications provides access to major publications whilst allowing downloads.

Centralized fire alarm systems, CCTV surveillance, and RFID Gate are some of the security measures undertaken. Qualified, experienced, and well trained library professionals serve users at any point in time whilst offering assistance in meeting academic and research information needs.

The cafeteria maintains strict hygiene standards. The Menu is prepared according to the food habits and tastes of students. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are served. Local tastes/cuisines are given paramount preference. The cafeteria is functional during the working hours of the institution.

The laboratories are customized as per the needs of individual departments. The labs have modern equipment for students to work on and stay abreast with the latest industry trends. Lab instructors are well-qualified and assist students with their projects.

All classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated to provide a holistic learning atmosphere to students. The classrooms incorporate the latest multimedia equipment to facilitate visual learning. The campus is also Wi-Fi-enabled to facilitate real-time exchange of academic information.

Sports

Sports is an integral part of CMRIT. CMRIT provides enough support to help students reach their potential.

At CMRIT, we have different facilities that accommodate various sports.

We have two basketball courts, a football ground, a volleyball court, we also have indoor table tennis courts and a place to play cricket as well.

We also have two gyms. These gyms have a wide range of equipment that everyone can utilize to build their physical fitness.

Of course, there are also teams for a diverse range of sports. We have teams for Hockey, Kho-Kho, and Kabaddi, football, basketball, cricket, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, throw ball, athletics, swimming, chess and more.

These teams have participated in multiple university level, state, national and international level competitions and won a number of these competitions. The college encourages students to participate in various tournaments, within the state and outside.

Within college, students organize an Inter-collegiate fest, Spardha, every year. We also have an inter department sports fest for all sports.

Physical Education & Sports-

Physical education-is an integral part of educational programs designed to promote the optimum development of an individual physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually through total body movement in the performance of properly selected physical activities. The primary aims of physical education have varied, based on the needs of the time and place. Most of the institutions’ goal is to provide students with knowledge, skills, capacities, values and the enthusiasm to maintain a healthy lifestyle into adulthood. Activities included in the programme are designed to promote physical fitness, to develop motor skills, to instill knowledge and understanding of rules, concepts, and strategies. Students learn to either work as part of a team, or as individuals, in a wide variety of competitive activities.

Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports is commonly referred to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determinant of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports (a common name for some card games and board games. Sport is commonly defined as an organized, competitive and skillful physical activity requiring commitment and fair play.

Academic Support
The sports students, exempted from attendance, are separately certified by the concerned HODs/Deans in case of shortage of attendance. Special lectures are scheduled, for these students on the topics missed, with prior permission from the respective Deans.
In case students attending sports activities miss internal assessment tests or assignments, the concerned faculty makes the required arrangements with permissions of the respective HODs/Deans
The department of physical education, along with that of the concerned faculty coordinates with the HODs/Dean in all such cases, in advance.

CMR SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
The CMR Sports Scholarship aims to promote and encourage sports activities both within CMRU, as well as throughout the country. These scholarships are offered to students representing at the state, national, and international levels.

Students who have participated in sports competitions including track and field events, athletics, cricket, hockey, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and fencing at the state, national, and international levels are eligible to apply. Students who have participated in yoga or chess at national and international competitions are also invited to apply.

Sports Scholarships are provided to:

Students displaying exceptional talent in sports are eligible for scholarships under the Sports quota.
The major objective of the scholarship is to provide incentives to sports persons, and award them such that they maintain sustained interest to participate and perform progressively.
Merit of the scholarship shall be decided based on the level of participation and performance.
Sports scholarships awarded to a student will be initially for one year, and will be renewed every year based on the performance.


Selection:

The University’s Sports committee scrutinizes the applications and selects candidates on the basis of performance and merit.

The decision of the Committee will be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
