Admission Process

Admission to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi is conducted through a centralized and merit-based process designed to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all applicants. Candidates seeking admission must register online through the university's admission portal, complete the application form, upload the required documents, and pay the prescribed application fee within the specified deadline.

For Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Integrated, and Professional Programs, admissions are generally based on performance in the CUSAT Common Admission Test (CAT), departmental entrance examinations, or national-level entrance tests such as KEAM, GATE, CAT, CMAT, MAT, or other approved examinations, depending on the course. After the declaration of results, eligible candidates are shortlisted based on merit and invited to participate in counseling, seat allotment, and document verification processes.

Candidates must produce original certificates relating to educational qualifications, age proof, community certificate (if applicable), transfer certificate, migration certificate, entrance examination scorecards, and other required documents during verification. Admission is confirmed only after successful document verification, fulfillment of eligibility requirements, allotment of a seat, and payment of the prescribed fees within the stipulated period.

The university follows the reservation policies and admission regulations prescribed by the Government of Kerala, UGC, and other statutory authorities. Selection is based on merit, entrance examination performance, eligibility criteria, and availability of seats in the respective programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Programs

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with the required subjects and minimum qualifying marks prescribed for the respective program. Engineering applicants generally require Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the higher secondary level.

Postgraduate Programs

Applicants must possess a relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with the minimum qualifying marks specified for the chosen program. Certain courses may require valid scores in entrance examinations such as GATE, CAT, CMAT, or university-specific tests.

Doctoral Programs (Ph.D.)

Candidates must hold a relevant Master's degree with the prescribed academic qualifications and satisfy the university's research admission requirements, including entrance tests and interviews where applicable.

Admission to all programs is subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria, entrance examination performance, document verification, merit ranking, and compliance with university regulations.
