About College

College of Engineering Attingal, established by Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), a Government of Kerala undertaking, is a premier technical institute having well flourished environment for moulding professionals.

College of Engineering Attingal, started functioning in the year 2004.The Institution has gained approval of All India Council for Technical Education and is an affiliated to Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT). Admission

Admissions are carried out on the basis of the ranks obtained in the All Kerala Common Entrance Examinations, conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. The college follows a 50-50 method of admission from both merit and management streams. Both streams are filled by centralized allotment process (CAP) held by the commissioner for entrance examinations, Government of Kerala.

IEDC: In association with Kerala Startup Mission (a Govt. of Kerala initiative), the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) was inaugurated on the 19th of September 2015.

Collaborative R&D project: Preventive Policing Using Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning is a collaborative project with Kerala Police Intelligence Wing with major participation by students and staff of the college for prediction and analysis of crime.

Admission Process

Admissons

Admission to the courses is on an annual basis and is based on the All Kerala Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. The admissions to the free/merit seats and management seats are through the Central Allotment Process conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. The proportion of seats are as follows: free/merit seats 50%, management seats 35% (as aforementioned allotment to both these categories are through the Central Allotment Process ), the remaining 15% seats come under the NRI quota.

Facility

Library Facilities

Central library is available with a very large number of books.

Hostel Facilities

A number of hostels, with good quality food and amenities are available near the college. The facilities available at present are adequate. Private owners managing these hostels and the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of the college, closely monitors their functioning. The new entrants to the college and their parents can draw information from the PTA and choose a hostel of their liking. Permanent hostel building of the college initially for girls and later for boys will be established at the permanent site, only after the completion of the construction of various blocks.

Language Lab

Language Lab mainly focus on the expert English vocabulary training and spoke practice for all the students in the campus.

Computer Centre Facilities

The college is, Equipped with a full fledged centralized computing facility. 100 MBPS National Knowledge Network (NKN) connection is available in the computer which connect major educational and research institution in India. 10 Nos. of broadband internal connectivity under NMICT scheme is also available in the campus.

Canteen Facilities

There is a canteen, inside the permanent campus, catering to the needs of the students and staff of the college. Delicious vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian meals, hot & cool refreshments etc. are served at affordable rates. The functioning of the canteen is strictly monitored to meet the acceptable standards of hygiene.

Transport

Transport Facilities

The college has a regular bus service plying to and from Trivandrum (Thampanoor) to the college for the purpose of conveying students and staff conveniently. Morning Trip starts at 8.10 AM from Thampanoor on all working days. The college campus is very near (less the 500 mts) to the KSRTC Bus Stand, Attingal.
