This Veterinary College is Situated in a sprawling campus spread over 83 acres in Gopavaram, Proddatur, Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh.   

College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur is a constituent college, affiliated to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati. The College is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as by The Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

The Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi has prescribed the regulations to meet the Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education for BVSc & AH degree course.

BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry the admission eligibility for which is based on counselling conducted by ANGRAU with the merit in A.P EAMCET.

MVSc program needs a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from SVVU/ANGRAU or from an institution accredited by ICAR/VCI for admission.

PhD Degree admission eligibility needs a Master’s degree in the respective/related subject from SVVU/ANGRAU or from an institution accredited by ICAR.

The College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur provides all necessary infrastructural facilities within the campus for the welfare and well-being of its students and staff.  The facilities include Girls & Boys Hostel equipped with CCTV surveillance, Indoor stadium, Computer labs, NSS, Digital Library, Reading Hall, Auditorium and much more.  The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the SVV University had allotted funds for the construction of new College Building,  Farm complex, Veterinary Clinical Complex, Livestock Farm Complex Unit, Boys & Girls Hostels Sports Complex, Gym Building, Indoor Stadium, Farmers Training Centre, Vehicles, Parking sheds etc. The College buildings have been constructed and the equipment procured, infrastructural facilities provided as per VCI norms which are mandatory since VCI Act is approved by Parliament of India.

• Counselling:

  • Conducted by Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) for all SVVU veterinary seats.

  • Candidates must register for AP EAMCET counselling and opt for veterinary programs during web option entry.

• Quota:

  • 85% State Quota (residents of Andhra Pradesh)

  • 15% All-India Quota (filled through VCI/NEET/AP EAMCET-based merit list)

  • Farmers’ Quota (included within 85%): 25% of local seats for students from farming families (owning >3 acres and studied in rural areas for 4+ years)
