College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur, is a premier Institute in higher education in the field of Veterinary Sciences, grounded in Andhra Pradesh.  It was established in the year 2008 to provide undergraduate courses in the field of veterinary science.  

This Veterinary College is Situated in a sprawling campus spread over 83 acres in Gopavaram, Proddatur, Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh.   

College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur is a constituent college, affiliated to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati. The College is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as by The Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

The Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi has prescribed the regulations to meet the Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education for BVSc & AH degree course.

College of Veterinary Science offers UG, PG and Doctoral programs in Various the field of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry.

BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry the admission eligibility for which is based on counselling conducted by ANGRAU with the merit in A.P EAMCET.

MVSc program needs a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from SVVU/ANGRAU or from an institution accredited by ICAR/VCI for admission.

PhD Degree admission eligibility needs a Master’s degree in the respective/related subject from SVVU/ANGRAU or from an institution accredited by ICAR.

The College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur provides all necessary infrastructural facilities within the campus for the welfare and well-being of its students and staff.  The facilities include Girls & Boys Hostel equipped with CCTV surveillance, Indoor stadium, Computer labs, NSS, Digital Library, Reading Hall, Auditorium and much more.  The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the SVV University had allotted funds for the construction of new College Building,  Farm complex, Veterinary Clinical Complex, Livestock Farm Complex Unit, Boys & Girls Hostels Sports Complex, Gym Building, Indoor Stadium, Farmers Training Centre, Vehicles, Parking sheds etc. The College buildings have been constructed and the equipment procured, infrastructural facilities provided as per VCI norms which are mandatory since VCI Act is approved by Parliament of India. 

Apart from out-shining in academics, the students of the College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur are excelling in the fields of sports, games, literary, and cultural activities at College, University, State and National levels. 

Hospital is available 2 kilometers away from the college. Hostel allots 3 students in a room. Absolutely satisfied because of good infrastructure, teaching quality and facilities. Placements: Maximum number of all the passed out graduates got jobs either in government or private sector.

A pass in two-year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or any other Examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Intermediate Board with the subjects mainlyi) Physics, ii) Chemistry, iii) Biology and iv) English A candidate under general category for admission to the B.V.Sc. Degree course must have passed in each of the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these subjects, at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / the Scheduled and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) (Differently abled) shall be 5% less than that prescribed for general category i.e.,47.5%).
Age 15 years to 22 years as on 31st August of the admitting year. In respect of SC / ST / PwD 27 years.
Admissions Based on Merit in AP EAPCET 2022 duly following Presidential Order & Rule of reservation including G.O.Rt.550, dated30.7.2001.
Twenty-five per cent (25%) of the seats in the SVVU are reserved for candidates coming from families of Agriculturists (Farmers) owning not less than 1 (one) acre of land either in the name of the parents or in the name of the candidates and who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas. If the land is owned by grandfather, grandmother or guardian or any other relations is not acceptable. 
Admissions under all India quota 15% seats under all India quota will be filled by Veterinary Council of India (VCI), New Delhi base on Merit in NEET examinations
