Overview 

M.Tech in Automobile Engineering (M.Tech AME) is a postgraduate engineering course in designing, manufacturing and operating automobiles. The minimum eligibility for this course requires passing B.E/B.Tech in Automobile/IndustrialProduction/ Manufacturing/ Mechanical/Mechatronics from a recognized university.

MTech Automobile engineering Admission is mostly through PG Engineering Entrance Examinations like GATE. Various colleges have their own entrance exam for admission in the course.

The average tuition fee for the entire course ranges from 1.5 Lakh INR to 3.5 Lakhs INR.

M.Tech AME graduates can choose from jobs in the automobile, Aeronautical and Automotive sectors. They can work as automotive Engineers, Service Maintenance engineers, Product development managers, corporate sales managers etc. A fresh graduate of this course can expect an annual salary of between 1 Lakh INR – 3 Lakh INR which would only increase with experience in the field.

Admissions to M.Tech Automobile Engineering are done on both a merit basis and through entrance examinations. For merit-based admissions, a bachelor’s degree in the same field with a minimum aggregate score of 50% and above is required. For entrance examination based admissions, nationally conducted entrance examinations like GATE are accepted.

Students seeking admission for this course must have completed their graduation or any equivalent (in the related stream) from a recognized university in which they must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate.
SC/ ST candidates have 5% of relaxation in the minimum aggregate.
