Admission to the given course is essentially processed through two methods. Either an institute might conduct an entrance exam or it will scrutinize the candidate's merit by considering their performance in 10+2 matric exams. Some institutes conduct their sole entrance exams which are=entirely focused on the allocation of seats in the given course. While other institutes also conduct similar B.E Entrance Exams, they also consider the performance of the candidate in the other India wide exams like JEE, for granting due admission. Steps in relation to the admission procedure are listed below.

  • The candidate needs to pass his 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50%, this aggregate percentage may vary, but it's similar for most institutes. Only after securing it would he be eligible for sitting for entrance exams for registration in the due course.

 

  • Different institutes conduct different entrance exams, for getting into an IIT the candidate needs to pass IIT-JEE Advanced, some universities like Chandigarh university have their own exams which are required to be cleared for gaining a seat. Similarly, Universities like Indraprastha consider the marks of candidates in both their own university exam as well as in all India wide exams like JEE.


  • Then the student is required to go through the counseling stage, some institutes might even have a personal interview stage which might be required to be cleared by the candidate.
