M.Tech - Medical Instrumentation
Overview:
M.Tech (Medical Instrumentation) or Master of Technology in Medical Instrumentation is a two-year Post-Graduate Biomedical Engineering course. The Master of Technology degree program in Biomedical Instrumentation is designed to train bioedical engineers interested in the applications and development of instrumentation used in medicine and biotechnology. Examples include the use of lasers in surgery and diagnostics, sensors for detecting and monitoring disease, and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices for controlled drug delivery, surgery, or genetics.
The Master of Technology course in Medical Instrumentation includes human anatomy & physiology, bio-signal acquisition & conditioning, biomedical imaging system, fiber optics and laser in medicine, cardiopulmonary bio-instrumentation, cardiac catheterization & sterilization techniques, clinical & instrumental aspect of nuclear medicine.
Master of Technology in Medical Instrumentation programme enables the student develop a vocabulary of appropriate medical terminology and to help the student learn to identify and describe the microscopic and macroscopic anatomy of the structures involved in the above body systems. To also describe the various tools used in health care and how they are used in the diagnosis and cure of pathological conditions and to demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between anatomy and physiology by using anatomical knowledge to predict physiological consequences.
