Overview:
MPhil Tamil is a research-based degree. The course involves an intensive study of the Tamil language and literature for one or two years. M. Phil (Tamil) is a theory-based course and includes no practical paper. Students holding a postgraduate degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution are eligible for the course. Candidates must have a minimum of 50% to be eligible for the course. Admissions to the course are mainly done based on the merit of the candidate's qualifying exam. However, certain colleges conduct their own entrance exams and counselling sessions.
