Overview : 

The Bachelor of Mass Media (B.M.M.) is a three-year undergraduate degree program that provides students with the knowledge and skills to work in the field of Mass Media.  This course provides theoretical as well as practical experience to candidates who are willing to pursue mass media as a field of study.

The B.M.M. curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including Print, Broadcast, Digital, Advertising, Public Relations, and Communication Theory.  It also covers various topics related to communication and its modes including Radio, Newspaper, Television, etc. 

The teaching methodology includes Lectures, Industry Expert Sessions, Workshops, and Field-Based Projects. Students are evaluated based on Group Projects, Assignments, Mid-semester examinations, and end semester examinations.

Admission Process

Admission Procedure For B.M.M Bachelor of Mass Media:

  • BMM Admission takes place through both merit based and entrance exam based. The Admissions process for the B.M.M. course is based on marks secured by the candidates in 10+2 or equivalent examinations and entrance tests conducted by different institutes.
  • The colleges will also go through the subjects that the student has studied in school. After looking at the marks and the relevancy of subjects, the colleges will shortlist students and ask them to come for an interview or group discussion. Most of the colleges conduct their own entrance test to shortlist candidates for the course.
  • Entrance: The entrance exam mainly has questions about English and communication skills, general knowledge, creative thinking, logical reasoning, data interpretation, and economics. 
  • Merit:  Many colleges also conduct a personal interview or group discussion followed by the entrance test to shortlist the candidates.  Candidates who qualify for the rounds involved in the admission process of an institute get admission to the institute.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility For B.M.M  Bachelor of Mass Media:

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the course. In order to be eligible, the candidate should meet certain eligibility criteria. If the candidate fails to fulfill the criteria the application shall be deemed to get rejected. Some of the eligibility criteria for admission to BMM are as follows:

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board from any of the streams: Arts, Science or Commerce.
  • The candidates must have scored 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination
  • Candidates can seek a relaxation of 5% in the total aggregate if they belong to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Physically disabled candidates.
  • The candidate should be at least 17 years of age
  • Candidates must clear the entrance exam (varies according to the college).
