The Madras Diocese of the Church of South India launched the C.S.I. Ewart Women's Christian College in 1997. Rev.Sandy Mac Donald, Moderator of the Church of Scotland declared the College open on 29September 1997. Rt.Rev.M.Azariah, Bishop in Madras at that time, inaugurated the College on 31 October1997 at its first location at C.S.I. Ewart Girls Higher Secondary School. Dr.Mrs.P.Chandrasekaran was the first Principal.

In 1893, Rev. Adam Andrew, missionary of teh Free Church of Scotland founded the Christian settlement of Melrosapuram on 72 acres of land with 13 families. It was to this sprawling and lush location that the college moved into during 2001. The College offers a sound liberal Christian education in disciplines that have potential for a productive career. Students also learn by carrying out independent research projects.

The College aims at the development of character and total personality development of each student through a widerange of curricular and co-curricular activities and student organizations. The College Chaplain supports the spiritual development of the community and provides counseling.

C.S.I. Ewart Women’s Christian College is founded on faith in the triune god and draws its inspiration from the bible and the life and example of Jesus Christ for its ministry of education.Nutured by eternal Christian values, the college aims to train young women to serving, caring ad sharing citizens of our great land and the world at large.

The priority of the college is the education to poor, oppressed and less privileged women, especially village women, to provide them opportunities for a fuller life. The college is committed to the liberation of women and training them to meet all challenge of gender and other discrimination. The college community as a whole will be a new humanized society where learning will transform, sensitize and inspire everyone to challenge the structures that divide people , and where truth will set free people from in human and superstitious beliefs.

Yes, college is expensive. But Ewarts is affordable. Our students graduate with among the lowest debt levels in the country.

Pay an application fee of INR 200 for UG courses (INR 250 for PG programs and INR 300 for M. Phil course) through Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. An additional of INR 150 has to be paid as Hostel charges.

Placement
The CSI Ewart Women's Christian College Placement Cell of the CSI Ewart Womens Christian College-CSIEWCC supports students in making the right career choices and enables employers to taking the right hiring decisions during recruitment.

It's a trustee college so there are very less fees for all the courses offered by them. Yearly 25000 only. But there is no campus for the students. And the scholarship they offer for the students from the lower community.

Residence Halls
