The Doongarsee Gangjee Ruparel College, established in 1952 by the Modern  Education Society, Pune is rightly known as one of the best institutions of higher education in Mumbai. D.G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science and Commerce PhD Admission

The D.G. Ruparel College also offers the PhD degrees across a variety of specializations of the science stream at the doctorate level. The duration of the PhD/doctoral degree may vary from 3 years to more or less. In order to become eligible for the PhD degree, a candidate needs to have completed their master's degrees in any of the relevant discipline of science stream.

Admission to the PhD degree will be strictly done as per the rules of the University of Mumbai. The Mumbai University conducts a Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) followed by an Interview round by the college to provide admission into the PhD programme. Only the candidates who have successfully completed their master's degree are eligible to appear for PET.

The D.G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science and Commerce currently offers two postgraduate programmes i.e. M.Sc and M.Com across a variety of specializations and in the duration of 2 years. The college charges a fee of INR 36,342 for its M.Com programme. However, the basic details about the PG programmes.

The D.G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science and Commerce is one of the top rated colleges in Mumbai which has been featured twice in the prestigious rankings of The Week for offering its popular UG programmes in Arts and Science. The college is pretty well-known for offering B.A, B.Sc, B.Com and other programmes across different specializations at the UG level.

Admission to these UG programmes is strictly based on the merit lists prepared by the college itself on the basis of the merits scored by the students in their 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examination. Also, candidates who have appeared for their Higher Secondary Examinations in any of the streams (Science/ Arts/ Commerce) are eligible for admission to various Undergraduate programmes at the D.G. Ruparel College. 

Placements Policy for Final Placements

• Eligibility for placement process will be based on attendance and performance of individual student at academic and placement module.
• A student can apply to any number of companies i.e, IT / Core however after receiving first offer, Student cannot appear for placement processes further.
• However, a student can appear for Dream status company placement processes. A student can avail only one dream status company offer.
Placement cell will decide, declare and inform students about the dream status company.
• Any communication from companies & vice a versa to the student will be routed through the T & P Office.
• Student must ensure to inform T & P office about opting out of final placement process due to higher studies or Personal reasons.
• The role of the Training and Placement Cell is of a facilitator and counsellor for placement related activities. Training and Placement cell does not guarantee a job.

Placement Cell: 

The Placement Cell was started by the College in the academic year 2006-2007 with a view to expose students of different faculties to job opportunities. Dr. Vikas Golatkar, Head, Department of Botany is the Co-ordinator of the Cell.
