Welcome to DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology (DAVIET), Jalandhar, a pioneering institution in the realm of technical education. Established in 2001 under the aegis of the DAV College Managing Committee (DAVCMC), New Delhi, which manages a chain of more than 970 institutions in India and abroad, DAVIET stands as a beacon of excellence in engineering, technology, and professional education. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, DAVIET is the first degree-level engineering institute established by the Dayanand Anglo Vedic College Managing Committee, New Delhi.

Situated in the heart of Jalandhar city on an expansive 18-acre campus adjacent to DAV College, DAVIET boasts a picturesque landscape with a running canal at its rear and the historic Burlton Park at its forefront. Admission to DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET), Jalandhar is generally carried out according to the eligibility and admission norms prescribed by the concerned regulatory bodies and affiliating university. Candidates are required to meet the prescribed educational qualifications for their chosen programme and, wherever applicable, qualify in the relevant entrance examination. For undergraduate engineering programmes such as B.Tech, admission may be based on entrance-examination performance and counselling, while seats under applicable categories may follow the prescribed institutional or university guidelines.

Admission criteria:

B.Tech

Admission Process 

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one approved subject such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, etc. A minimum of 45% marks is required in the specified subjects, with 40% for reserved-category candidates.
• For regular B.Tech admission, candidates are admitted on the basis of their JEE (Main) rank, as specified by DAVIET.
• Candidates need to complete the DAVIET registration/admission form and submit the required information and documents. For the 2026–27 session, the institute has provided a B.Tech 1st-year registration form online.
• Eligible candidates participate in the applicable counselling process, where seats are allotted according to the prescribed admission rules, entrance rank and seat availability.
• After selection/allotment, candidates must report to the institute, complete document verification and pay the prescribed admission/academic fees to confirm their B.Tech admission.

Eligibility 

• Passed 10+2 from a recognized board.
• Physics and Mathematics must be compulsory subjects.
• One additional approved subject such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, IT or another specified subject is required.
• Minimum 45% marks in the relevant subjects; 40% for reserved-category candidates.
• Admission to regular B.Tech is based on JEE (Main) rank.

M.Tech

Admission Process 

• Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% marks, or 45% for reserved-category candidates.
• Candidates need to fill in the DAVIET M.Tech registration/admission form and provide the required academic and personal details. The institute has a specific M.Tech registration form for 2026–27.
• Applicants must submit copies of their qualifying-degree certificates, marksheets, identity documents and other documents required by the institute/admission authority.
• M.Tech admission is carried out according to the applicable IKG Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) admission norms. DAVIET's published admission information has also indicated consideration of GATE merit/qualifying-examination merit, depending on the applicable admission rules.
• Selected candidates complete document verification and pay the prescribed fees to confirm their M.Tech seat and complete the admission formalities.

Eligibility

• Passed a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
• The bachelor's degree should be in the relevant field for the M.Tech programme.
• Minimum 50% marks are required in the qualifying examination.
• 45% marks are applicable for candidates belonging to the reserved category.
• Candidates must fulfil the applicable IKGPTU/institute admission requirements for the selected M.Tech programme.

DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET), Jalandhar, provides scholarships, freeships and government financial-assistance schemes to support eligible students who may need help with their educational expenses. The institute facilitates Post-Matric Scholarships for eligible SC/ST and OBC students according to applicable Punjab Government and I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University norms. Students can also apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for various central-government schemes, including scholarships for minorities, students with disabilities, SC/ST students, and AICTE schemes such as Pragati, Saksham and Swanath Scholarships, subject to the respective eligibility conditions.DAVIET's records also mention institutional fee waivers and scholarships for needy and eligible students. Previous scholarship notices have included schemes from organisations such as the Sitaram Jindal Foundation and Guru Harkrishan Educational Society, although availability and eligibility can vary by academic year.

The Institute has a full-fledged Training & Placement Cell to look after the Placement activities. The Training and Placement cell provides the official support base for placement of Final year & Pre Final year students. The support services that it offers are in the form of arranging campus interviews, grooming students to face the final test of their knowledge, create and arrange value added Industrial/Practical Training to the students. The institute is equipped with two centrally air conditioned Auditoriums (with a seating capacity of 1200 and 350) for holding Pre-Placement Talk, two conference rooms for conducting group discussion sessions, seminar hall and well furnished rooms & offices for conducting interviews. The Placement Office is fully computerized. The Steering Committee of the Placement cell is headed by the Training & Placement Officer of the rank of Assistant Professor and Industrial Coordinators from each department of the rank of lecturers. In addition to the support staff, four students from each department are contributing as Student Placement Coordinators.

DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET), Jalandhar, provides a range of campus facilities designed to support academic learning, student activities, and day-to-day campus life. The institute has well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, a library and knowledge centre, computer facilities, seminar and conference spaces, Wi-Fi/internet connectivity, sports facilities, cafeteria, hostel accommodation, banking and ATM facilities, transportation, and medical support. The campus also provides facilities for extracurricular activities, student events, and technical activities. These facilities create a convenient environment for students to pursue their academic programmes while participating in sports, cultural events, seminars, workshops, and other co-curricular activities.

DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET), Jalandhar, is located at Kabir Nagar, Jalandhar, in the heart of the city and has convenient road connectivity. The institute is situated close to the Jalandhar–Amritsar National Highway, making it accessible from different parts of Jalandhar and nearby areas. The official DAVIET brochure states that Jalandhar City Junction is about 4 km away, while the Jalandhar ISBT is approximately 5 km away, providing convenient rail and bus connectivity for students travelling from other cities. Adampur Civil Airport is around 22 km from the institute, offering an air-travel option for students and visitors from distant locations. The institute's infrastructure information also records transport facilities for students and staff, supporting regular campus-related travel. Students can use local city buses, auto-rickshaws, taxis and other public transport options to reach the campus. Its location within Jalandhar city further makes daily commuting relatively convenient for day scholars.
