The Srinivasan Charitable & Educational Trust, founded by A Srinivasan, has been in the field of education for more than a decade. To receive Secondary care and Tertiary care medical treatment, the public residing in Perambalur and surrounding areas had to approach other district medical college hospitals which were located at Villupuram, Salem and Tiruchirapalli. Perambalur as they did not have Medical College or well equipped hospital to serve the poor people except Government Hospitals at Perambalur, Ariyalur and Cuddalore. The Trustee and Trust members felt that providing good education in the field of Medical and Health Care Service, can bring about positive changes to society, especially the general public in and round Perambalur and adjacent district who use to throng the far away Pondicherry, Chennai or Madurai to get Quality medical care services. Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital (DSMCH) was established by the Trust in 2011 with a pledge of serving the economically backward with high class health care amenities in the town of Perambalur. The Medical Council of India gave the Letter of Permission for 150 M.B.B.S. annual admissions during the year 2011. Mr. A. Srinivasan who was the Founder & Managing Trustee of the Trust is also the first Chancellor of the University.


Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College And Hospital is a world class institute, situated in 100 acres of land located at the NH 45 Trichy – Chennai high way at Siruvachur, Perambalur District, with a buildup area of 12 lakhs square feet. This Institute caters to the needs of the rural population in and around major Districts like Trichy, Ariyalur and Cuddalore. This institute is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

DSMCH offers a wide range of courses in the Medical and Allied Health Services. The students can chose from a variety of courses - M.B.B.S., M.D. (14 Streams) M.S. (5 Streams) D.M. (2 Streams), M.Ch. (2 streams) and Allied Health Services B.Sc. (8 streams). The college has obtained the Letter of Permission for 74 seats in various Post Graduate courses, few of which have got Recognition status by the then MCI/NMC. NEET and NEET PG exams are accepted as eligibility for Entrance into the college.
In a short span of few years this hospital has started its Super Speciality services like Dialysis, Renal transplantation, Liver Transplantation, Heart Transplantation, Nuerology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Gastroenterology, Urology along with other Interventional & Cardiac Surgical Procedures.
